Orientation of Polytechnic Institute held in C’nawbganj

The orientation programme for the students of Diploma-in-Engineering of Polytechnic Institute in Chapainawabganj under the session of 2019-2020 was held on Saturday amid festivity. Polytechnic Institute organised the programme at their Auditorium which was followed by a discussion meeting. A Z M Nurul Haque, Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj addressed as the chief guest at the programme while Abul Kahyer, Chairman of Baroghoria union parishad, Abul Basar, Member of the Chapainawabganj Zilla Parishad addressed as special guests. AJM Masudur Rahman, vice principal of Polytechnic Institute, its instructor Shahidul Islam, addressed, among others. Principal of the Institute engineer Humayaun Kabir Khan presided over the programme. A total of One thousand two hundred students admitted at the Polytechnic Institute under the session of 2019-2020. A gathering of guardians were also held. All teachers and more than thousand of freshers of the institute including their guardians took part at the programme.
Bicycles distributed among students in Saidpur

New bicycles distributed among the forty one students in Saidpur to facilitate the journey from home to school on Wednesday . The bicycles were distributed under the initiative of Upazila Parishad under the Annual Development Programme. On Wednesday afternoon the bicycles were handed over to the poor and talented students of different educational institutions of the five unions in the Upazila Parishad premise. Saidpur Upazila Chairman Md. Moksedul Momin was the chief guest on the occasion. Upazila Vice-Chairman Md Ajmal Hossain and Women Upazila Vice Chairman, Sanjida Begum Lucky was present as the special guest. Saidpur Upazila Executive Officer SM Golam Kibria presided over the distributing program. Saidpur Upazila Engineer AFM Raihanul Islam, Upazila Education Officer. Shahjahan Mondal, Upazila project Implementation Officer, Md. Abul Hasnat Sarker with other Officials, Public representatives, Teachers, Guardians and students were present at the Upazila Parishad premise.
BGB held two with Phensidyl, hemp

In two separate raids, Border Guard Bangladesh personnel of 49 Border Guards Battalion, arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with 8 kilograms of hemp and 80 bottles of Phensedyl from Amrakhali and Ghiba under Benapole port police station, stated at a press release issued by the BGB recently. According to the press release, the Border Guard personnel detained Apurba Munshi, 20, of Shailapara village under Shariatpur sadar police station searching a bus of Shohagh Paribahan at Amrakhali on Friday. The BGB men recovered 80 bottles of Phensedyl from his possession. In another drive, the BGB men held Sahiruddin, 25, of Ghiba village under Benapole port police station along with 8 kilograms of hemp on the same day. Two cases were lodged with Benapole port police station in these connections.
