National Public Service Day observed in BARI

Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has celebrated the National Public Service Day yesterday . A discussion meeting was arranged at the institute’s seminar room marking the day. BARI acting Director General Zebun Nessa was present as chief guest while Director (Planning, Evaluation) Dr. Babu Lal Nag chaired the discussion meeting. Director(Research) Dr. Md. Abdul Wohab, Director (Horticulture Research Centre) Dr. Abeda Khatun, 27 No. Ward Councilor of Gazipur City Corporation Jabed Ali Jobe, female Councilor Khandokar Nurunnahar were present as special guests in the meeting. Heads of the different divisions, centers and sections of the institute were present also on the occasion. Senior Scientific Officer of Training and Communication Wing Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak gave a brief presentation on the activities and achievements of BARI.
National Fishery Week begins in Rampal

The National Fishery Week was observed in Rampal in a befitting manner in Rampal recently. To celebrate the week, a Upazilla Fishery week chalked out an elaborate programmes . A colorful rally was brought out that paraded the main spot of Rampal Upazilla. After that, a discussion meeting was held at Upazilla Auditorium. Being presided over by UNO of Rampal Tushar Kumar Paul , Deputy Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Habibun Nahar was present there as Chief guest. Upazilla Chairman Sk. Moajjem Hossain was present as special guest. Upazilla Vice Chairman Nurul Haque Lipon, Mohila Vice Chairman Hosneara Mily, OC of Rampal Thana Md Tuhin Howlader, Upazilla Fishery Officer Sk. Asadullah, UP Chairman of different Unions and political leaders were present in the function.
Fruits, Tree Fair begins in Manikganj

A ten-day ‘Fruits and Tree Fair’ began at Manikganj under the joint auspices of Manikganj district administration, Department of Agriculture Extension and Department of forest. Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, MP inaugurated the fair at the Play Ground of Manikganj Government High School (Bijoymela Math) on Saturday. The Minister urged the people including the students to plant at least one sapling at their court-yards and by the road side each. He also suggested the people to make roof-top garden at their houses for getting fruits, vegetables, oxygen and make a favourable atmosphere. Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj S M Ferdous, Police Super Rifat Rahman Shamim, Civil Surgeon Dr. Anwarul Huque Akando, and Manikganj Pourasava Mayor Gazi Quamrul Huda Selim were present there.
