Prize distribution of best teachers, students held

The prize distribution for the best teachers and students of the year -2018 academic year of the Mosque-based children and mass education programme in Kapasia of Gazipur was held on Monday at Upazila Parishad Auditorium. Kapasia Islami Foundation was presided over by Master Training Teacher of Islamic Foundation of Gazipur Md. Noor Alam presided over as Kapadia Upazila Parishad Chairman Advocate Alhaj Amanat Hossain Khan. Vice-Chairman of the Upazila Parishad Mohammad Asaduzzaman Asad was present as special guest. Three best-known teachers were rewarded by teachers of 351 centers in the upazila. The best teachers are Md. Kalamuddin, Mizanur Rahman and Masuda. Each year, 10 Quran students of every center are rewarded.
Govt. takes project to address river erosion
MANIKGONJ: Deputy Minister for Water Resources Enamul Haq Shamim said river erosion in riverine Bangladesh is a common phenomenon as the government has taken project to address the problem effectively recently. The government is giving priority to the areas where educational institution, hospitals and places of worships are vulnerable to erosion; Shamim said while visiting erosion affected Kustia Government Primary School at Shibalaya Upazila here. The deputy minster said the government would take permanent measures for protection of all installations and structures from erosion. He announced allocation of Taka 1.25 crore for conducting river bank protection work in Manikgonj. Director General of Water Development Board Mahfuzur Rahman, Chief Engineer Akhil Kumar Sarkar, Superintendent Engineer Abdul Matin Sarkar, District Council chairman Golam Mohiuddin, Upazila Chairman Rezaur Rahman Khan were present. Earlier the deputy minister visited erosion of Kaliganga River bank and erosion effected Ramzan ali High School of the Upazila, reports BSS.
Anniv of daily Jaijaidin observed in Kapasia

A discussion meeting was held in the office of Kapasia correspondent Shakil Hasan on Monday at the initiative of friends forum, to mark the 14th anniversary of daily Jaijaidin of Kapasia in Gazipur. Later, the colorful rally was brought out of the invited guests.
