Old woman killed in road mishap in Morrelganj

An old woman was killed in a road mishap took place on Signboard-Bogi Regional Highway at CRC place under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district recently. The deceased was identified as Manwara Begum (70), wife of one late Abdul Majid Khan of village Bisharighata under the same Upazila. Police said that in the afternoon while she was crossing the Highway at the place of occurrence a speeding cement carrying truck (Dhaka Metro Ta-12-1696) of Shah Cement Company that was going from Sharankhola to Mongla dashed her violently from the behind. As a result, she was fatally injured. She was recovered from there and was sent to Upazila Health Complex where the physician on duty declared her dead. K M Azizul Haq, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told, the killer truck was seized by the police. But the driver and the helper managed to escape.
Orientation class of Rampal Govt College held

Orientation class of newly- admitted student of Rampal Govt. College was held in the college Auditorium recently. Presided over by the acting Principal of Rampal College Dinobondhu Paul, Rampal Upazilla Chairman Sk. Moajjem Hossain was present there as Chief Guest. Mohila Vice Chairman Hosneara Mily, OC (Investigation) Md Tuhin Howlader and Upazilla Chatra League President Md. Hafizur Rahman were present there as special guests . Md. Saiful Alam, L ecturer English Department Golam Easin Raju and a student of second year Chamely Akhter delivered an important speech on the occasion. At that time , teachers of the college , staffs and many other students were present there. Mostofa Kamal Polash, lecturer, Islamic History and Culture Department , conducted the function.
Minor girl drowns in Chandpur

A minor girl drowned in the pond of her maternal uncle’s home at Tetuiyya village under Kochua upazila on Friday noon. The deceased was identified as Tasnim Akter,6, daughter of Md Mosharraf Hossain – a resident of village Buthunda in the upazila. While playing with her playmates, she went to the pond ghat without the knowledge of her parents and others. While playing in water, she unfortunately slipped in the pond and drowned. Locals traced her floating body and sent it to the upazila health complex where the doctor declared her dead, hospital source said, reports UNB.
Moral education to prevent criminalisation stressed
PIROJPUR: Housing and Public Works minister SM Rezaul Karim here today called for boosting moral education at all level to prevent the youths like ‘Noyon Bond’ from becoming involved with criminal activities. “Moral education is very crucial for the students side by side regular education to groom up them as worthy citizen,” the minister said while distributing education materials for different schools of the district. Addressing a function on the occasion at Nazirpur Primary Teachers Association auditorium here today the minister urged the teachers to treat their students like their children. Primary school is the foundation of education and if students remain weaken at this stage they would not be succeeded to reach their goal, he said. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rosy Akhter chaired the function while Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain, Police Super Hyatul Islam Khan and Upazila Parishad chairman Amuloy Ranjan Halder, spoke among others. A total of 88 projectors and 133 Sound System were distributed among different schools in the function, reports BSS.
