Non-govt college teachers demanded MPO

Teachers who are imparting education at honour’s and master’s level at non-government colleges arranged a press conference at Barishal Reporters’ Unity on Sunday noon demanded intervene of Prime Minister for their inclusion in the government’s Monthly Pay Order (MPO) system. Prof Mokhlesur Rahman Moni, Barishal Unit convener of Bangladesh Non-government College Honours-Master’s Teachers Forum, read-out a written statement about their demand in the press conference. In the statement and answering questions of the journalists he and other leaders of the association said as per direction and approval of National University hounours, master’s level education started in different colleges of the country since 1993 for expanding higher education in grass root level. Since then according to the criteria fixed by the government and the national university, appointed teachers doing their duty of giving lessons to the honour’s master’s level students in 201 non-government colleges including 27 of Barishal division. However in long 26 years, most of the teachers yet not included in MPO and serving by getting only Tk.3000-3500 per month as honourium. So they are passing their days in hardship with their family members.
Apron distributedamong Auto bike drivers

In the initiative of the Bangladesh Auto Bike Workers Welfare Society, Saidpur Terminal – Chikli Branch of Nilphamari, apron, identity card and rental list have been distributed among the Auto bike drivers. The materials were distributed on Tuesday at the central bus terminal area of Saidpur. Saidpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) S M Golam Kibria distributed the materials as the Chief Guest. At that time, Saidpur Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO) Homayra Mondal, Upazila Food Controller (UFO) Dr.Sohel Ahmed, Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Abu Hasnat Sarker, President of Bangladesh Auto bike Workers Welfare Society Saidpur Terminal Section, Md.Asaduzzaman Shaon and others were present.
DC Pabna exchanged views at Bhangura

Kabir Mahmud, newly-joined DC Pabna district exchanged views with public representatives, government officers, journalists and member of civil society in Bhangura upazila at freedom fighter Hossain Ali Auditorium on Monday. Syed Ashrafuzzaman, UNO presided over the meeting. Among others Md.Shafiul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Pabna, Md. BakiBilla Chairman of BhanguraUpazila, Golam Hasnain Rashel Mayor of Bhangura Municipality, Md Shahiduz Zaman, Principal of Govt.Haji Jamal Uddin Degree College, Gulshanara Parvin Lipi Member of District Council, Golam Hafiz RanjuUpazila Vice Chairman, Azida Parvin Pakhi, Upazila Female Vice Chairman, Dr Halima Khanom Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer.
Prof Mahbub-ul-Alam ,President of Bhangura Press Club, UP Chairman Belal Hossain Khan, Hedayetullah Haque and Freedom fighter Asadur Rahman spoke in the meeting. Bhangua Upazila Administration arranged the meeting on exchanging views.
