New branch of DFED inaugurated in Munshiganj

DAM Foundation for Economic Development (DFED) inaugurated its 100th branch at Sreenagar Upazila of Munshiganj District on Saturday. A discussion meeting was held on the occasion at Dewalbogh area of the upazilae. Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) President Kazi Rafiqul Alam presided over the meeting while Sreenagar Upazila Parishad Chairman Mashiur Rahman Mamun was present as Chief Guest. Moreover, DAM General Secretary Dr. S.M. Khalilur Rahman, Executive Director Dr. M. Ehsanur Rahman, Chief-Executive Officer of DFED Md. Asaduzzaman and Sreenagar Union Parishad Chairman Mokhlesur Rahman were present at the time.
Training on cultivation of exportable medicinal plants held

A training of cultivation & primary processing of exportable medicinal plants held at Naria, Shariatpur on 21 June. Bangladesh Herbal Products Manufacturing Association (BHMPA) and Business Promotion Council (BPC) an apex organisation of commerce ministry jointly organized the programme, says a press release. In the training programme Md. Rasheduzzaman, Assistamt Commissioner (Land), Naria, Shariatpur was present as Chief Ghuest presided over by Dr Alamgir Mati, President of Bangladesh Herbal Products Manufacturing Association (BHMPA). Zakir Hossain Bepari, Vice Chairman of Naria Poursava, AKM Monjurul Haq Akanda, Officer Incharge of Naria Thana and Hannan Soiyal, councilor of Naria Poursava among others were also present as special guests. More than 120 participants took part in the training programme.
Transport leaders postpone strike in Sylhet

Transport owners and workers have postponed their strike scheduled for June 24 in Sylhet division. Earlier a transport strike was called protesting at launching of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation bus service on Sylhet-Sunamganj highway. Sunamganj deputy commissioner Md Abdul Ahad told media that the decision of postponing the strike was taken on Friday night after a meeting between Sylhet Divisional transport owners-workers unity council and Passengers’ Rights Protection Council. Secretary for Sylhet division and Brahmanbaria bus owners’ samity Sajib Ali and Passengers Rights Protection Council’s advocate Raj Uddin and Environment and Haor Development Sangstha’s president Kashmir Reza were present at the meeting.
