At least three people including a policeman were wounded in an attack on a demolition drive carried out by Jashore Municipality at RN Road in the town on Saturday afternoon. Sub inspector Mahbub Alam of Kotwali police station told newsmen that policeman Nayek Rigan was wounded as a demolition drive was attacked at RN Road in the town.Kamal Ahmed, sub assistant engineer, Jashore Municipality told journalists that three people including a policeman were wounded in an attacked allegedly carried out by some businessmen on a demolition drive.Two vehicles of Jashore Municipality were also damaged, he added. Mostafa Kamal, president, Puratan Bazar Traders Association told that none was wounded as there was no incident of attack was carried out.
One held with 60 kgs Ganja in Rangpur
RANGPUR: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) seized 60-kilogram of smuggled ganja and arrested an alleged drug trader from the Domdoma Bridge point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway in the outskirts of the city on Tuesday night. “A special operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur battalion headquarters conducted a raid and challenged a speedy trolley there when the driver-cum drug trader tried to escape the scene around 7:30 pm,” a press release said on Wednesday. The elite force seized 60-kilogram of specially packed ganja, worth about Tk 15-lakhand and arrested the drug trader and seized cash money, a mobile phone set and the trolley from the spot, reports BSS.
Workshop held in Kishoreganj

Cabinet Division and Kishoreganj district administration arranged a workshop on givens readers with district level officers held at Collectorate Conference on Monday morning. Senior Additional Secretary, Cabined Division Md. Sultan Ahamed attended as chief guest while Acting Deputy Commissioner Dulal Chandra Sutrador in the chair. It was addressed among others by Joint Secretary Md. Rahat Anowar as special guest, Deputy Secretary Md. Zahid Hossion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, ADC (G) Adbullah-al-Masud, ADM Md. Habibur Rahman and Additional SP Anirbr Chowdhury. At least 45 district level official were also present.
