Construction worker electrocuted in Chandpur

A construction worker was electrocuted while working on the roof of the multi storied building of Lytton Patwary at West Hajiganj Bazar in Hajiganj Upazila Sqadar on Thursday afternoon. While saving him from danger, his two colleagues were also injured in the same incident. The deceased was identified as Jashimuddin, 26, son of Md Jafor Ali, hailed from Hatila East village in Hajiganj Upazila. The injured were Mohammad Sharif Hossain, 25, of the same home and Abul Hasan ,26, of hammadpur village of Sunamganj. Both are admitted to Hajiganj Health Complex. Contacted, OC Hajiganj Thana Alamgir Hossain told this correspondent that while doing construction works on the roof of the above mentioned building , worker Jashimuddin suddenly contacted live electric wire and he shouted. To save him from danger, Sharif and Hasan rushed and they also sustained injuries. At once they were rushed to Hajiganj Health Complex where the on duty doctor declared Jashim dead at 7 pm. His body was sent to Chandpur General Hospital morgue for post mortem at night.
RMP provides Eid dress to distressed families
RAJSHAHI : Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) authority has provided Eid dress to more than 100 poor and distressed families and orphans aims at bringing smile among them during the Eid festival. RMP Commissioner Humayun Kabir distributed the goods at Police Lines and Kasiadanga area yesterday afternoon. RMP Deputy Commissioners Tanveer Haider Chowdhury, Amir Jafar, Sazid Hossain, Hemayet Hossain, Joynal Abedeen and Abu Ahmed Al Mamun were present on the occasions. Speaking on the occasion, RMP Commissioner Humayun Kabir urged the rich people of the society to stand beside the underprivileged families with financial help to celebrate their Eid festival. He mentioned if the solvent people extend support to improve the living and livelihood condition of poor and merginalised community in the society can be freed from beggar. In this regard, he said the present government has taken decision of freeing the society from beggar on priority basis, reports BSS.
Minor boy drowns in Sharankhola

A 4- yearsold boy named Yasin, son of one Sayed Mridha of village Uttar Kadamtala in Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was drowned in a canal on Thursday afternoon. It is learnt from the locals that in the afternoon father of the boy went to a nearby canal taking his son to take bath and when they were taking bath the son was drowned in the canal without the knowledge of his father. Then the father guessed, the son returned home. But after returning home the father did not find the son. Then the father rushed to the canal, searched it and recovered the dead body of the boy. The boy was rushed to Sharnakhola Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
