Sundarganj upazila health complex gets ambulance, jeep
GAIBANDHA: Sundarganj upazila health complex got ambulance and jeep from the Ministry of Health to provide better services to the people. On the occasion of handing over the ambulance and jeep a function was organized in the premises of the health complex today. Upazila health and family planning officer (UHFPO) Dr. Yakub Ali Morol was in the chair. Local lawmaker Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary, UNO M. Soleman Ali and convener of Upazila Unit of Awami League TIM Mokbul Hossain Pramanik were present as special guests. Lawmaker Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary pointed out the relentless efforts of the present government to build a healthy nation through ensuing health services for all. He said a health database of the upazila would be prepared and an arrangement would be taken for caesarian operation at the upazila health complex. The Sundarganj upazila would be turned into a model one in health services within three years, he expected. Later, lawmaker Patwary handed over the keys of the ambulance and the jeep to the UHFPO Dr. Yakub Ali Morol, reports BSS.
Workshop on SDG implementation held at Saidpur

A day-long training workshop on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SGDs) held at Saidpur on Monday. In collaboration with the Prime Minister’s office of Governance innovation unit, Saidpur Upazila Administration organised the day-long workshop at the Hall Room of Labour Welfare Center. Rabeya Alim MP inaugurated the workshop as the Chief Guest. UNO SM Golam Kibria presided over the programme . Md. Azharul Isalm, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) presented keynote paper. Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) cleared the main concept of SDG through his valuable speech. Deputy Director of Nilpahamari District also spoke at the programme . The day-long training workshop was conducted by Parimal Sarker, Saidpur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land). 80 participants of government and non government officials, politicians, representatives of civil society, public representatives, teachers, students, jourlasts, volunteers and representatives of religious organization took part in the workshop. The participants performed group work and presented their opinions and thoughts through their presentation.
Training on basic journalism begins in Gopalganj
GOPALGANJ: A three-day training programme on basic journalism began at the Hall Room of Tungipara upazila parishad in the district on Saturday. Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) organized the programme. Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University Professor Dr Khondoker Nasiruddin took part in the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Director General of PIB Zafar Wazed chaired the function while Tungipara Upazila Parishad chairman Md Soliman Biswas, Director of PIB Md Jakir Hossain and training coordinator of PIB Parveen Sultana Rabbi, among others, spoke. A total of 35 journalists from Tungipara and Kotalipara are taking part in the three-day training programme. Later, the Director General of PIB paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his shrine in Tungipara, reports BSS.
