International Nurses Day observed in Brahmanbaria
BRAHMANBARIA: International Nurses Day-2019 was observed in the district on Sunday through holding different programmes including rally and discussion. To mark the day, local administration and district hospital have arranged various programmes to highlight the importance of the day. A rally led by deputy commissioner Hayat-ud-dola Khan was brought out from the premises of district hospital at 11am this morning which paraded different streets in the town. Following the rally, a discussion on ‘International Nursing Day’ was held in Dr Milon Hall of District Hospital. Civil Surgeon Dr Md Shah Alam, physicians, nurses and officials, among others, addressed the discussion with supervisor of the hospital Dr Md Shawkat Hossain in the chair.International Council of Nurses celebrates this day with the memories of the founder of Modern Nursing, Florence Nightingale. International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, reports BSS.
Eye camp held in Rangpur

A day- long free eye camp was held at Ekorcholi High School under taraganj upazila in Rangpur district on Saturday. Rangpur Community eye hospital organized the day long eye camp with the financial assistance of UKAID under sights savers “Right to health Project’. A good number of poor, disable &Autistic people including men,women & children received treatment free of cost at the camp.
Agri-input distributed among farmers in Jashore
JASHORE: Keshobpur upazila administration of the district and local office of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) jointly distributed agri-input including seeds and fertilizer among marginalized farmers. Under the incentive programme, these agricultural inputs were distributed among 430 poor farmers at Keshobpur Upazila Parishad for Aush paddy cultivation. Each farmer has got five kilograms (kg) seeds of paddy, 15-kg DFP fertilizer and 10-kg MOP fertilizer.Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mohadeb, officials of different organisation concerned, among others, were present on the occasion, reports BSS.
