Arms, ammo recovered in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered firearms and ammunitions from frontier Refugeepara area here on Tuesday night. BGB said, on secret information, a special patrol team led by BGB commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel SM Salahuddin raided Refugeepara area at around 11:20 pm and seized a motorcycle along with fire arms and ammunitions. They also recovered four one shooter guns, two 9mm pistols, three magazines and 16 rounds of bullet from the motorbike, reports BSS.
Bicycles distributed among girl students in Jhenaidah
JHENAIDAH: District administration with the support of local NGO Seba Sangha here on Tuesday distributed bicycles among girl-students different educational institutions. A total of 32 bicycles were distributed among students of five institutions in Sadar Upazila which would help them enhancing the quality of their education and empowerment. A function in this connection was held on Maharajapur Union Parishad premises. Deputy Commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath took part the programme as chief guest while Union Parishad chairman Khurshid Alam was in the chair. Managing Director of Bangladesh NGO Foundation Sador Ali Biswas, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shammi Islam, Social Services Officer Rubel Hawalader and President of Sheba Sangho Aminur Rahman Tuku were present. Our Habiganj correspondent said Upazila administration with the support of Nabiganj Probashi Kallyan Samity distributed rickshaws, sewing machines and wheelchairs among 50 poor poor people in Nabiganj Upazila this morning. A function was held at the Hall Room of Nabiganj Upazila Parishad on the occasion. Mohila vice chairman of the Upazila Najma Begum presided over the function while Upazila Parishad chairman Fazlul Haque Chowdhury Selim was present as chief guest. Senior Assistant Police Super Parvez Alam, Upazila Mohila Awami League President Dilara Begum, Upazila Fishery Officer Md Rasheduzzaman, journalist Motiur Rahman Munna and Upazila Education Engineering officer Muhiminul Islam spoke among others on the occasion, reports BSS.
Agri-input distributed among farmers in Jashore
JASHORE: Keshobpur upazila administration of the district and local office of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) jointly distributed agri-input including seeds and fertilizer among marginalized farmers. Under the incentive programme, these agricultural inputs were distributed among 430 poor farmers at Keshobpur Upazila Parishad for Aush paddy cultivation. Each farmer has got five kilograms (kg) seeds of paddy, 15-kg DFP fertilizer and 10-kg MOP fertilizer.Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mohadeb, officials of different organisation concerned, among others, were present on the occasion, reports BSS.
