Election of Mymensingh Divn BPA held

The annual election of the Bangladesh Psychology Association (BPA), Mymensingh Division was held at the Aspada Training Academy Center in Mymensingh, recently. As the chief guest of the election, the General Secretary of the National Committee of Bangladesh Psychology Association, Dr. Shamsuddin Ilias and Prof Kamal Uddin Organizing Secretary (BPA) was present as special guest. Alhaj Md. Shamsul Haq (Assistant Professor) Gabtoli Degree College, Muktagacha, Mymensingh was elected president of 15-member committee. Md. Monirul Islam (lecturer) Gauripur Women’s Degree College, Mymensingh was elected as General Secretary.The 15-member committee is as follows: Md. Shamsul Haque (President) Md. Eye camp held in Rangpur

A day-long free eye camp was held at Chatra union Parishad under Pirganj upazila in Rangpur district on Wednesday .Rangpur Community Eye Hospital organised the daylong eye camp with the financial assistance of UKAID under Sight savers’ Right to Health project. A good number of poor indigenous and autistic people including men, women and children received treatment free of cost at the camp.
Rajshahi IHT closed over BCL factional clash

Authorities of Institute of Health Technology(IHT), Rajshahi, on Tuesday shut down the institution for an indefinite period following a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over selling of human skeleton. After an emergency meeting of the academic council, the authorities of the institution informed the matter on Tuesday through a notice. The notice was issued in this regard asking the students to vacate their respective dormitories by 8pm in the afternoon. All classes and examinations of the institution were suspended for indefinite period while all of male and female dormitories have been announced to shut to avert any untoward incident on the campus, said IHT principal Farhana Haq. Three students, who were followers of IHT unit BCL general secretary Wahiduzzaman, had an altercation with a first year student named Saiful Islam who was also a supporter of BCL president Aslam Sarkar over selling human skeleton.
Dirgha Bridge opens in Pirojpur
PIROJPUR: The long-awaited 360-meter long Dirgha Bridge over Taltala River on the Pirojpur-Nesarabad road in Najirpur upazila of the district opened recently. Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) constructed the bridge, including approaching road of both sides at a cost of Taka 32 crore, said Susanta Ranjan Roy, executive engineer of LGED, Pirojpur. The long standing communication problem of the region is now solved as they people now travel easily from one place to another. After opening the bridge people of four upazilas will enjoy direct communication facility, he said, reports BSS.
