Workshop on foreign remittance held

A day-long workshop on transfast foreign remittance and annual business planning was held at hotel MoMo inn nearby Nawdapara area in Bogura on Saturday. Managing director (MD) and CEO of NCC bank Mosleh Uddin Ahmmed was speaking here as chief guest while founder executive detector of Thengamara Mahila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) Husne-Ara was speaking as special guest. The chief guest urges Bangladesh poses some a crore and 26 lakh remittance sender whereas Philippine poses over 62 lakh only. But they send foreign currency to their country more than Bangladesh as they are skill workers. Especially they are skill on computer software so they are earning more and sending more. We should send efficient worker to make more foreign currency. Both, the TMSS and NCC bank are reaching money to the family members of expatriates. The function was sponsored by National Credit and Commerce (NCC) Bank and Thengamara Mahila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) to distribute award on out sanding contribution on achieving foreign remittance presided over by Deputy Drector-1 Abdul Quader. Certificate distributed among disabled in Faridpur

Computer training certificate were distributed among 20 physical disabled people on Sunday noon, who gets training on computer operating system from Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Faridpur region office recently. The regional director Sanath Kumar Das said, the 20th day long training has been ended on computer operating for disabled person at the BCC conference room of Char Kamlapur area under Sadar upazila in Faridpur District. Among others Md. Ashraful Islam, trainer of BCC, Biplob Kumar Malo, Executive Director of Gram Unnayan Sangastha were present on the occasion.
Three houses gutted in Sylhet fire

Three houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at Dakhshin Dashpaika village in Biswanath upazila on Friday afternoon. Amir Ali, chairman of Daulatpur union, said that the fire broke out at the house of one Zarif Ali of the village around 4pm and engulfed adjoining two houses of his neighbours. On information, a fire fighting unit went to the spot and extinguished the blaze with the help of locals.
SCC cleaning drive continues
Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) started a special month-long cleaning drive Wednesday morning. A procession, led by SCC Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, starting from Nagar Bhaban in Bandarbazar area, was brought out on the occasion. The mayor inaugurated the drive by cleaning the Shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) and surrounding areas. Shahab Uddin Sihab, public relations officer of SCC said, ‘620 workers including 250 regular cleaners of the corporation will be conducting the drive throughout the month.’ Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, ‘Mosquito spray is useless if we keep our city unclean. All parts of the city will be cleaned and then we will start special drive against mosquito menace.’ He also urged all responsible citizens, organisations and students to come forward and join the drive.
