World Autism Awareness Day observed

The World Autism Awareness Day-2019 was observed in Gopalganj through colourful programmes on Tuesday. On the occasion of the day, Gov’t Technical School and College, Gopalganj, brought out a colourful rally and chanting slogan. The rally paraded main roads in the city. Teachers, Students and other officials attended the rally. After rally, a discussion meeting was held at Gov’t Technical School and College, Gopalganj premises. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Principal, Gov’t Technical School and Collee, Gopalganj presided over the discussion meeting. Among others, Engineer Nurul Haque, Senior teacher, Gov’t Technical School and College, Gopalganj, Mizanur Rahman, Anwarul Azim and Milon Kumar Halder, Senior teachers of Gov’t Technical School and College, Gopalganj were spoken on the occasion.
Arms, drugs recovered in Khulna

Anti -drug task force launched an operation at Mariam Para and Daroga Para of the city on Wednesday. Led by district magistrate Helal Hussain the force arrested three persons and recovered 10 bottles of phensidile, one Pistol with two magazine, 13 bullet of Revolver, 17 cartridge of Shotgun, One bottle of whisky and one beer from them. Arrested persons are Monika Sarkar 45 Abdul Hamid 40 and Rupok 25. Additional director of drug administration, deputy Commissioner of police (South), OC khulna Thana was in he tusk force, Police said.
Honey collection starts in Sundarbans

The season to collect honey from the Sundarbans began on Monday. It was inaugurated from Burigoalini Forest Station in Shyamnagar upazila in the morning. The collection will continue until June 15. This year, the government aims to collect 3,000 maunds of honey and 1,000 maunds of wax from the Satkhira range. Honey and wood collectors have already got their permissions from the local forest department.
Electric carpenter electrocuted
An electric labour named Liton Hossain (24) was killed in Gazipur’s Satkhira gas supply on Sunday noon . This incident took place at Gazipur area of Sadar upazila . The deceased was identified as Liton Hossain, son of Saidul Islam of Bhad-Khali Mahmudpur area of Sadar upazila. The locals said electrician Liton Hossain was doing electric work in a mosque in Gazipur Mahadebnagar in Sadar Upazila. Suddenly one of his hands got caught in the electricity cable. He was seriously injured. After the incident , locals rushed him to Satkhira Sadar Hospital and the duty doctor declared him dead. in-Charge Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Kapasia Rayed UP Chairman takes oath

Newly -elected Chairman of Rayid Union Parishad in Kapasia upazila of the district Md Shafiqul Hakim Molla Hiron took oath on Tuesday. He was elected In the by-election recently . Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir officially conducted the oath at ‘Bhawal Conference Room. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rev) Sanjeeb Kumar Debnath, Kapasia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mousa: Ismat Ara, former Awami League President Alhaj Muhammad Shahidullah, newly elected Chairman of Kapasia Upazila Parishad Ad. Amanat Hossain Khan, Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Asad, Women’s Vice Chairman Rowshan Ara Sarkar and several Awami League party leaders were present.
It is to be noted that Sheikh Rayed Union Council’s freedom fighter Abdul Hye died on 2 September.
