Int’l Women’s Day celebrated in Rangpur

Democracy International (DI) Rangpur region organised a seminar, regarding International Women’s Day title “Better for Balance: Women in Politics” on 13 March at Six Seasons Convention Center in Rangpur city. 120 political leaders from AL, BNP and Jatiyo Party (JP) of Rangpur Division came on one platform in Rangpur on that day to express their opinion about IWD and women inclusion in main party committee. Besides, journalist and civil society members were present there. DI Rangpur Regional Manager Md. Ali Ejad conducted two multimedia presentation regarding history of International Women’s Day and women inclusion in politics. Rangpur City AL Vice President Shah Nabi Ullah Panna, City BNP General Secretary Shohidul Islam Miju, Rangpur District BNP General Secretary Rois Ahmed, City AL Joint Secretary Ainun Nahar Papry, Rangpur District BNP Vice President Adv. Rezeka Sultana Fancy, City BNP Vice President Shahida Rahman Jostna, Rangpur city Jatio Mohila Party convener Jesmin Akter, Rangpur District AL Joint Secretary Touhidur Rahman Tutul, Kurigram District AL Office Secretary Rabindra Nath Bose, Kurigram BNP Joint Secretary Hasibur Rahman, Thakurgaon Mohila AL President and Thakurgaon Mohila BNP, Lalmonirhat Mohila BNP Secretary and AL Secretary, Nilphamari AL and BNP activists and Gaibandha Mohila AL activists presented at the event. Women leaders said about importance of women in politics and advancement of women leadership all over the world.
Prize distributing programme held

Mandir-based Child and Mass-Education Programme, a project of Religious Ministry arranged a prize distributing ceremony among the teachers and students held at local collectorate conference room on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury and Police Super Md. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) attended as Chief Guest and inaugurated the function while ADC (General) Tarafder Md. Akther Jamil in the chair. It was addressed among others by Hindu Kallan Trusti Lipu Roy, Trusti Senior Advocate Bhupendra Bhowmic, Principal (Retd.) Professor Robindranath Chowhdury, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, A.P.D Humayon Kabir, and Hindu Community Leader Aroun Shaha. Chief a special guest were distributed prize and certificate among the 10 student and 5 teachers.
