Poet Azizul Haque remembered

Bangla Academy award winning poet Azizul Haque was remembered in Jashore through several programmes on Saturday. he programmes include recitation of poems composed by the poet, discussion and honouring selected people. Jashore Shahitya Parishad and Swagata Kantha arranged the programmes it the offices of the organisations. Azizul Haque was born on 2nd March,1930 at Sreepur in Magura and died on 27th August in 2001.
311 meritorious students get Zila Parishad stipends

A total of 311 talented students got stipends from Chandpur Zila Parishad recently. In order to help enrich and flourish the merits of the poor but meritorious students, Chandpur Zila Parishad authority granted this stipend money amounting to Tk 10 lakh two thousand for 311 meritorious students of the eight Upazilas of the district who obtained very brilliant results in the last year’s SSC, HSC, Dakhil and Alim Exams of Education and Madrasha Boards from schools, Colleges and madrashas in the district. In this connection, ‘Stipend Money Distribution’ function was organised on Thursday noon at the Zila Parishad Auditorium with the Chief Executive Officer Md Abdul Mannan in the chair. Zila Parishad Chairman Alhaj Osman Ghani Patwary was the chief guest while Zila Parishad Secretary Md Mizanur Rahman, Chandpur Press Club President Shahid Patwary, General Secretary Laxman Chandra Sutradhar and two meritorious students among others spoke on the occasion. The Chief guest and all other speakers called upon the meritorious students to obtain very good results in the coming public exams too in the colleges and universities and to be worthy citizens of the country by acquiring true knowledge about their chosen major subjects or fields in their higher education in the universities and also to learn the true history of the great leaders of the country and the Liberation War. They also urged them to contribute later to the development of the country in their future careers. Then the chief and the other guests handed over the stipend money among the students one by one.
Police Memorial Day observed in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj District Police arranged a memorial meeting and distributing the prize, crest among the Shaheed Police families held at its police lines recenly. Police Super Md. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) presided over the function. It was addressed among others by Zila Parished Chairman Advocate Md. Zillur Rahman as special guest, P.P Advocate Shah Aziz, Additional S.P (Promoted S.P) Nazmul Islam, Additional S.P Md. Shafiqul Islam, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Hindu Kallan Trusti Lipu Roy and Tarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Mizanur Rahman.
Hemp trader held
RAB arrested one man with 2kg hemp on Friday midnight. On secret information RAB drive the operation at Rashidabad village under Kishoreganj Sadar upazila in Kishoreganj District. RAB arrested Md. Abdur Rahim (35) son of late Muslah Uddin of village Rashidabad under Kishoreganj Sadar upazila in the District. 2kg hemp were recovered that time. RAB- 14 (CPC- 2) Commanding Officer LT M. Shovon Khan confirmed this. A case was filed by Narcotics Control Acts- 2018 on Kishoreganj Model Police Station in this connection.
