Seven writers honoured in Chandpur

On the occasion of the International Mother Language Day and Shahid Dibos, seven writers of Chandpur were honoured on Thursday afternoon at a simple ceremony held on the premises of the Nagorik Barta-a vernacular News Portal in the district town. This news portal authority took this initiative to honour these writers -first of its kind in the town by any news house. Their books were published in the on -going Book Fair at Bangladesh Academy premises recently.
The honoured writers are: Farakkabad Degree College Principal Dr Md Hasan Khan, poet Dr Pijush Kanti Roy Barua and young poets-writers- Kader Polash, Ashik Bin Rahim, Mainul Islam Manik, Rafiquzzaman Roni and Khorshed Alam. Chief News Editor Mohammad Masud Alam presided over the ordinary but impressive function while veteran journalist and Chandpur Press Club’s former President Golam Kibria Jiban(Ittefaq +BTV) was the chief guest on the occasion. Farakkabad High School Headmaster Md Ruhul Amin Howlader spoke among others on the occasion. Besides, all the honoured seven writers spoke expressing their reactions and gratitude.
