Three drug traders arrested

Law enforcing agency, in separate drives, arrested three alleged drug dealers in Rajshahi city on Sunday. The arrestees are- Aynal Haque, 32, son of Aser Ali, a resident of Sheikhpara area of the city, Altaf Hossain, 38, son of late Ismail Hossain, a resident of Dewliya Poschimpara area of Bagmara thana and Shojol Sheikh, 28, son of late Baschu Sheikh, a resident of Sheikher Chak area of Boalia thana. On secret information, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-5) arrested Aynal and Altaf from Nowdapara bus terminal area under Shah Makdum thana of the city along with 800 pieces of Yaba pills. In another drive, a team of RAB-5 conducted a drive at medical college area of Rajpara thana under the city and arrested Shojol. During the drive, 490 pieces of Yaba pills, one mobile, one sim card and Tk 300 were recovered from Shojol. A case has been lodged with Rajpara thana under narcotics control act against the detainee, RAB sources said.
5-day training on Integrity begins in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: A five-day training on integrity began here on Sunday aims at disseminating ideas among people of all stakes on the issue along with various other civic services. Divisional Ethnic Minority Cultural Academy organised the training at its conference hall. Teachers from various schools and colleges, university students, social activists, scouts and officers and employees of the academy are taking part in the training workshop. Deputy Director of Local Government and Deputy Director of the academy Muhammad Shalahuddin addressed the opening session as chief guest. Ward Member of Dewpara Union Parishad Kostantina Hasda and Training Officer of the academy Manuel Saren also spoke on the occasion. During the training, the participants will be given ideas on various issues like disaster management, right to information law, innovation of civic services, office management and national integrity strategy. Md Shalahuddin termed the training as continuous process and it can bring behavioral change in human being together with boosting competence and transforming people into self-reliant. He said the country is marching forward at present and people are getting hundreds of civic services through online. The government will deliver more than 3,000 public services through online by 2030, reports BSS.
Book Fair begins in Sylhet

A fortnightly book fair has begun in Sylhet marking the month of Language Movement recently. Ekushey Padak awarded folksongs singer Sushama Das inaugurated the book fair on the premises of Central Shaheed Minar at Chowhatta in the city. Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury addressed the programme as Chief Guest that was attended, among others, by senior journalist Al Azad, Ahmed Nur, Sushasoner Jonno Nagarik district president Faruque Mahmud Chowdhury, IndiaÕs Rabindra Sangeet artiste Shubhra Prashad Nandi, Sammilita Natya Parishad Sylhet president Mishfaq Ahmed Mishu, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote Sylhet general secretary Gautam Chakrabarti, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Professor Nazia Chowdhury and Udichi Shilpigoshti district president AK Sheram. Bandhusabha, the readers group of a Bengali vernacular daily Prothom Alo, has arranged the book fair in which set up stalls by different renowned publishers of the country.
