Austagram Upazila Administration arranged a awareness programme and distributed sanitation kits by secondary level student of Annul Development Programme (ADP) on Tuesday .Upazila UNO Md Salah Uddin presided over the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil was present as Chief Guest. Austagram Upazila Chairman Shahidul Isla, Austagram Govt. Rotary Degree College Principal Moztaba Arif Khan and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Bulbul Ahamed were present special guest. At least thousands sanitation kit distributing among the secondary level students.
BCL’s 71st founding anniv celebrated in Rangpur
RANGPUR: The 71st funding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was celebrated here on Monday through daylong colourful programmes with a fresh vow to build a developed digital Bangladesh. Leaders of BCL hoisted the national and party flags, cut cakes, played Bangabandhu’s Historic March 7 Speech, placed wreaths at mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, organised blood donation and cultural functions. The district and city units of BCL brought out huge colourful processions participated by thousands of leaders and activists of BCL, Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies on the city streets followed by massive students’ rallies and discussions. Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, and Commerce Minsiter Tipu Munshi, MP, congratulated the BCL leaders and activists over cell phones on the occasion. President of district BCL Mehedee Hassan Rony presided over the main discussion moderated by its Rakibul Hassan Kanon at Town Hall auditorium in the city. Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, President of city AL Shafiar Rahman Shafi, its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal, Joint General Secretary of district AL Professor Mazed Ali babul, its Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, Organising Secretaries Advocate Anwarul Islam and Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, Publicity Secretary Latifa Shawkat, among others, addressed, reports BSS.
Computer course for specially-abled people

The State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday inaugurated a special computer course for specially-abled people through video conferencing at six regional centres in Sylhet from secretariat in the capital. State Minister said the present government is going to bring the specially-abled people of the country under a central database. “Government has made much progress for Digital Bangladesh, a vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It passed an act to ensure rights and protection of specially-abled people in 2013. We will always be by the side of those, who are fighting to defeat their disability through hard work,” he said. “The present government is implementing different projects to make the specially-abled people self- employed and self-reliant by providing them training. We will adopt different activities to ensure appropriate jobs for them as per their abilities,” Palak added. Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is organising the course under Neuro Developmental Disorder Project, which will go on till 2020. A total of 20 people will take 20-day training in each batch. BCC member Md Rezaul Karim, Director (training and development) Enamul Kabir, Project Director Mohammad Monwar Uj Jaman, Deputy Project Director Md Golam Rabbani, SUST professor Md. Forhad Rabbi, Asst. professor Bishw Priyo Chakrabarty, BCC Sylhet in charge Modhu Sudon Chandra were present, among others, on the occasion.
