Woman held with arms, Yaba in Kishoreganj

A notorious woman arrested by Rapid Action Battalian (RAB- 14) in a special drive at Monipurghat on Tuesday and recovered one revolver, 3 bullets, 2470 yaba tablets, cTk 25 thousand and Bank cheques of Tk 25 lakh. The criminals was identified as Fatema Akhter Borna (35) , her husband is Md. Shaheed Miah at Monipurghat in Kishoreganj town. RAB- 14 Kishoreganj Camp Commander and Deputy Director Lt. Commander BN Md. Shovon Khan said that arrested Borna and her husband Shaheed Mia are listed yaba and arms traders of the district. They are accused in cases of Sadar Police Station.
2-day job fair ends in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI : A two-day job fair ended here today amidst huge turning out of job-seekers both male and female. More than 30 participants from both home and abroad set up stalls and offered suitable jobs to prospective students from different universities and colleges. Country’s largest job related website bdjobs.com (www.bdjobs.com) hosted the fair in association with Rajshahi University Carrier Club and Rajshahi College Carrier Club at Nice Convention Center in the city. Main objective of the fair was to create a link between the job providers and job seekers as a whole. Chief Commercial Manager of bdjobs.com Prokash Roy Chowdhury said 6,500 job-seekers submitted application against 102 posts. After scrutinizing the participating establishments interviewed 1,200 candidates for providing them job. He viewed that need-based vocational training for the youths coming from poor families and their post-training employment is needed for eradicating their unemployment problem, reports BSS.
SSF observes founding anniv at SUST

Socialist Student Front (SSF) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Unit has observed its 35th founding anniversary on Monday at the campus.
To mark the day, SSF started a procession from the Orjontana with their leaders-activists and the procession ended with a rally at the passenger camp in the Campus. Najirul Ajam Biswash, General Secretary SUST Unit SSF conducted the rally and Convener Prosenjit Rudro presided while Committee members Moinuddin Mia, MK Munim, Usha Rashid Ifaj were addressed among other.
6 gold bars recovered in Chuadanga

Members of Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 6 gold bars weighing 700 gram from Nastipur border in Damurhuda upazila yesterday noon. Imam Hasan, director of Chuadanga BGB-6 Battalion, said being tipped off over gold smuggling to India, a team of BGB conducted a drive along main border pillar no 80 and challenged a young man around 12:30pm. Sensing danger, the youth fled the scene leaving a packet wrapped with a paper. Later, the BGB members recovered the gold bars worth Tk 25 lakh from the packet.
