Winter clothes, adult allowance distributed in Narsingdi
NARSINGDI : ‘Elderly Peoples Program’ distributed winter cloths and allowance among the elderly people at Sukundi Union Parishad Auditorium in Monohardi upazila of Narsingdi district yesterday, says a press release. Sukundi Union Parishad Chairman Md Sadiqur Rahman Shamim presided over the program while Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Monohardi upazila Md Assadikzaman was present as chief guest in the program. Focal person of the Program at head office Md Rezaul Islam and Zonal Manager of Dam Foundation for Economic Development (DFED) Md Khairul Islam were present as special guests. Winter clothes were distributed among 100 poor elderly people and adult allowance .Tk 600 each were distributed among 75 under-privileged elderly people. It is noted that Dam Foundation for Economic Development (DFED), an entity of Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) is jointly implementing the ‘Elderly People Program’
Fugitive convict drug peddler held , sent to jail

An elderly fugitive convict in drug case, 70-year old man Abdur Rashid was nabbed on Thursday afternoon ,on a tip off , while taking drugs at a solitary place beside Chandpur Natun Bazar-Puran bazar Connecting bridge in the town. An inhabitant of Brahman Shakhua village and son of late Md Hakim Mia, old Rashid was convicted by Chief Judicial Magistrate in June 2016 to suffer jail term for six months and fined an amount of Tk 5 thousand on charge of drug peddling and taking drugs..But he was fugitive so long. Chandpur Model Thana issued a warrant of arrest against Rashid later. But while taking drugs, he was caught red handed and arrested by Sub Inspector Foyezuddin along with other force on Thursday . He was produced before the court on Thursday afternoon.

Police record shows that OC Masud Karim in Benapole Port police station played vital role to seize huge contraband Indian drugs and lodge at least 100 cases during the last one year.
