Cows stolen from Barishal recovered in Chandpur

 Two cows allegedly stolen from Barishal were recovered at Bangla Bazar Saturday noon in Chandra union under Chandpur Sadar Upazila. Contacted , Chandpur Sadar Model Thana Sub Inspector Rezaul Karim told this correspondent that these two cows alleged stolen from Dorichar village in Mehendiganj Upazila of Barishal on 3rd January. The owner of the cows -Ripon Sarder came to know from various sources that the cow lifters brought the cows for sale secretly at Banglabazar in West Chandra union of Chandpur Sadar this noon. On getting this information, Sadar Model Thana Sub Inspector Rezaul Karim along with forces rushed to the spot and traced the stolen cows and in the meantime, sensing the presence of Police , the cow lifters managed to flee. The cows were brought to Chandpur Model Thaana premises by a pick up van. Sub Inspector Rezaul Karim tol;d this correspondent said, the cows would be handed over to the real owners after proper scrutiny of the owners. The valuation of the cows is about Tk one lakh fifty thousand. OC Md Nasim confirmed the report.
Foreign pistol, phensedyl recovered in Rajshahi

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on early Tuesday recovered a foreign pistol, 30 bottles of phensedyl from Rajshahi Border. BGB-1 commanding officer Tajul Islam confirmed the matter adding that members of BGB were patrolling in 10 no. Padmar Char and Bathanbari areas. At that time, a group of smugglers managed to flee the scene leaving a foreign pistol and 30 bottles of phensedyl sensing the presence of law enforcers. BGB team later recovered those from the spot but none was arrested in this connection, said BGB-1 commanding officer Tajul Islam.
