Teen age boy held with 500 Yaba

Sadar Model Thana Police recovered 200 pieces of yaba recovered from the stomach of a teen age boy . More 100 pieces of yaba are in the process of recovery from his stomach. Police recovered from his dress 200 pieces of yaba. The arrestee is identified as Arafat ,14, son of Jahed Hossain Khan – hailing from Muinnagum village under Cox’s Bazar. He said, he was taking these 500 pieces of yaba tablets from one Mynuddin in Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka through /via Chandpur launch ghat. He came to Chandpur by Saudia Bus. Then he was moving suspiciously at the launch ghat early Saturday. Observing his suspicious movement at Chandpur launch ghat , on duty River Police detained him and interrogated him. River Police recovered 200 pieces of Yaba tablets from him.Later, he admitted that seeing policemen at Chandpur Launch Ghat, he swallowed as many as 300 pieces of yaba tablets. On hearing this information, Police got him admitted to Chandpur General Hospital on Saturday.
3 drug paddlers held with Yaba tablets in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)- 5 arrested three alleged drug traders with banned Yaba tablets from Khirshikantikar area under Shahmukhdum Police Station in the city recently . RAB sources said the arrested persons were identified as Towhidul Islam, 35, Amirul Islam, 52, and Sabuj Mian, 19. On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid in the area at about 1.30 am and arrested them red-handed. The RAB team recovered 410 pieces of Yaba tablets and 661.2 liters of country-made liquor from their possessions. The sources said the arrested persons were involved in Yaba trading and trafficking for long. A case was recorded with the police station in this connection. The arrested persons along with the seized contraband items were handed over to the police, reports BSS.
Jashore 10th grader ‘kills self being failed to stand first’  
JASHORE: A class X student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree after being failed to secure first position in the final examination at Ista village in Jhikargaccha upazila on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Rimon Reza Emon, 15, a class X student of Matikumra High School and son of Hasanuzzaman of the village. Mezbah Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Bakra Police, camp, said Emon was the first boy of his class and he maintained his first position from class I-IX. Family sources said Emon got his final examination results in the afternoon and broke down in tears as he stood second in the examination. Later, he went out of his house around 2:30 pm. After sometime, he was found hanging from a tree in a mango orchard, owned by one Lutfur Rahman. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue. A case was filed with Jhikargaccha Police Station, reports UNB.
13 shops gutted in Faridpur fire
FARIDPUR: Thirteen shops were gutted in a fire which broke out at Satroshi Bazar in Sadarpur upazila early Friday. Faridpur Fire service station officer Saifuzzaman said the fire broke out in a shop around 3 am and spread soon. On information, three firefighting units went to the spot and extinguished the blaze after one and a half hours of frantic efforts. The affected shop owners claimed that extent of loss caused by the fire could go up to 1 one crore, reports UNB.
Huge sugarcane gutted in Gaibandha farm fire
GAIBANDHA: A fire broke out at a sugarcane farm of Rangpur Sugar Mills Ltd in Sahebganj area of Gobindaganj upazila recently, burning down huge tropical plant. The fire originated at Bagda Sugarcane Farm around 3pm, said Managing Director of the mill Anwar Hossain. The fire gutted sugarcane on 40 hectares of land, he said. On information, four units of fire fighters rushed in and brought the fire under control after four hours of frantic efforts, said Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Gobindaganju Ramkrishna Barman. The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, Anwar said, adding that they were looking into whether it is an act of sabotage, reports UNB.
