A memorandum was submitted to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday demanding reinstatement of 30 percent freedom fighters’ quota and including 11-point demands. Muktijoddha Songsad Sontan Command of Rajshahi University (RU) Unit on Tuesday staged demonstration in front of Rajshahi District Administration Office premises and submitted the memorandum to the district administration S M Kader for carrying it to the PM. Their some demands are included- to stop job facilities to the war criminal’s children, to dismiss jobs who are involved with anti-liberation, to give the constitutional recognition for all of freedom fighters and to increase the age-limit for the job seekers. At that time, RU Unitof Muktijoddha Sonsad Command president Tariqul Hasan, convener Khondokar Likhon, Omor Shuvo, Organising Secretary Sammi Aktar and the organization’s others members, among others, were present.
Two fake doctors fined, jailed

Rapid Action Battalion unit-8, arrested two fake doctors and a mobile court fined and jailed the miscreaned on Wednesday. RAB-8 issusing a pressrelease on Wednesday said , said the convicteds were Mizanur Rahman, 35, K M Shahidul Islam, 32, and they were arrested from Rupatali area of the city on Wednesday noon. Hasan Ali, senior assistant director of RAB-8, acknowleding the facts told Mizan opening Jannat Ma O Shishu Prathamik Chikitsa Seba Kendra and Shahidul opening Chandradwip Dental Care , were practising as doctor and dentist since long days without any academic recognitions. After receiving allegations RAB raiding their shops challenged them and they failed to show any academic qualification or permission from any recognised authourity in support of their medical prectice.
Then the detained two produced before the mobile court led by Joydev Chakraborty, assistant commissioner and administrative magistrate of district administration and the court fined each of them Tk 20 thousand and sentenced them to one year imprisonment.
Jailer sent to jail for money laundering

Jailer of Chittagonj Central Jail named Sohel Rana Biswas (45) was sent to Kishoreganj district jail in two cases field with Bhairab Bazar Railway Police Station on Saturday. The Senior Judicial Magistrate of Kishoreganj Abdur Noor passed the order. On Friday afternoon, Railway Police arrested jailer Sohel Rana Biswas of Chittagonj central jail reportedly along wih Tk. 44.40 lakh in cash, 2.0 crore FDR, a cheek for Tk. 1.30 crore and 12 bottles phensidyl syrop from Bijoy Express train at Bhairab Bazar Railway Station of Kishoreganj. Jailer Sohel Rana Biswas was returning to his Mymensingh house from Chittagong. Two cases were filed including money landraing in this connection with Bhairab Rail Police Station.

A mobile court of RAB led by Senior Magistrate Abu Taher Sayeed in a anti-narcotics drive at Bogadia area arrested 3 yaba trader recovered 48 yaba tablets from there possession. The court also sentenced 3 drug trader get two years jailed for yaba and fined taka ten thousand each. The convicted person were Md. Bahad (28) son of Md. Chand Mia, Mamun (24), son of Md. Shahidullah, Sumon (30), son of Abdul Hamid, all are village Bogadia Nagua. They were sent to Kishoreganj district jail.
Kheturdham festival ends in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: The three-day Kheturdham festival (Khetur Mohotsav) ended at Premtali Gourangabari under Godagari upazila of the district on Tuesday amidst assemblage of thousands of devotees from home and abroad. The festival, one of the largest religious congregations of the followers of Baishnava (Hindu) religion in the Indian sub-continent, is held at Khetur and at Gourangabari of Premtali under Godagari every year to mark the death anniversary of Shree Shree Thakur Narottam Das. Every year, Hindu devotees from all over Bangladesh and from various provinces of India, Nepal, France, USA and Australia visit Kheturdham to pay tribute to the soul of Thakur Narottam Das and get relief from all sins, reports BSS.
