3 RU students detained

Police arrested the three students of Rajshahi University for their alleged involvement with Islami Chhatra Shibir politics, student front of Jamaat-e-Islami from Binodpur area adjacent to the university on early Friday. Officer in charge (OC) of Motihar police station Sahadat Hossain confirmed the matter. He said, the detainees were identified as Jonan Hossain, Ahsan Habib, Touhidur Rahman. They both are students of Islamic Studies department of the university, the OC also added.
Police exchanges view with journalists at Dupchanchia

High police personnel were exchanged view with local print media journalists at than premises under Dupchanchia upazila of Bogura on Sunday. Sub-inspector Abdus Salam was in operation the whole function in a befitting manner. Female entrepreneur gets Raja Bodwan award

Female entrepreneur Kumkum Begum was rewarded with Raja Bodwan Award for her outstanding performance after having loan form Grameen Bank, Chansra Branch, Jashore. Talking to journalists Kumkum told that she felt proud having the award. ‘I’m being encouraged to spend my small business after having the prize,’ she added. Rafiqul Islam, zonal manager, Grameen Bank, Jashore handed over the prize money and a crest at a ceremony at the bank in presence of Rashedur Rahman, manager, Chansra Branch, Grameen Bank and other officials.
Man held with six pistols, ammo in Rajshahi
Rajshahi: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a man along with six foreign-made pistols, 75 round of bullets and nine magazines from Ahmednagar in the city on Saturday night. The arrestee was identified as Emran Ali, 35, son of Al Amin of Laxmipur village of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabgonj district. Acting on a tip-off, an elite force team conducted a drive at a rented house in the area around 8 pm and arrested Emran along with the pistols and ammo, said Lt Col Mahabubul Alam of RAB-5. Emran was trying to send this pistols and ammo to the capital, he added. Necessary legal measures would be taken against him, said the Rab official adding that drive were continued to arrest the others who were involved in rackets, reports UNB.
