Health camp held in Chapainawabganj

More than 300 eye patients were provided free eye treatment in a day long camp at Moharajpur Union Parishad premises on Monday.Non-government organization (NGO) Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society arranged the camp under its Developing Inclusive Insurance Sector Project with the association of Palli Karmo Sahayok Foundation (PKSF). Physician in eye of the Chapainawabganj branch of the Jatyo Andhya Kallyan Samity Babul Hossain gave the treatment. A seven member associate team assisted him. The technical support was given by Jatyo Andhya Kallyan Samity. A simple function was held to inaugurate the camp at the conference room of the Moharajpur UP. It was held with the chairman of the UP Mukhleshur Rahman Sateman in the chair. Among others, Executive director of Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society Hasib Hossain spoke at the function as chief guest, coordinator of Proyas Shah Azad Iqbal and project coordinator Mizanur Rahman spoke as special guest.
Journo Mir Julfikar Ali dies

Mir Zulfikar Ali Lulu, Principal of Bagerhat Khanjahan Ali Degree College and Bagerhat district correspondent of Bangladesh Betar and former President of Bagerhat Press Club breathed his last due to a massive cardio attack in Bagerhat Sadar Hospital at 6-20 am on Tuesday. He was 57. He left behind wife, one son, one daughter, 4 brothers and a host of relieves, friends and admirers to mourn his death. He was the brother of Alhaj Adv Mir Shawkart Ali Badsha, MP of Bagerhat Sadar Constituency. He was Secretary General of Bagerhat Foundation and Vice-President of Bagferhat district Sports Association. Besides, he was associated with a good number of social-cultural organizations. Members of Bagerhat Press Club and various socio-cultural and political organizations condoled the death of Mir Zulfikar . His first Janaja was held in the local Bagerhat Collegiate School premises and second Janaja was held in his own village at Tengrakhali under Kachua Upazila. He was laid to rest in his family graveyard in Tengrakhali on the same day.
Friendship organised seminar in char area

A seminar was jointly organised by Government and Friendship in char Jatrapur of Sadar Upazilla in Kurigram district. The seminar was organised on Tuesday at the premises of Friendship Weaving Centre facilities in Jatrapur where the Chairman of Jatrapur Union Parishad Md. Abdul Gafur presided . Deputy Commissioner of Kurigram ABM Azad was Chief Guest, special guest Ayesha Taasin Khan and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi officer Aminul Islam were present at the meeting. DC Kurigram ABM Azad told that early marriage and drugs are the biggest curse for our society. He also said that because of the unconsciousness of the guardians and society it is spreading out with a massive way. He mentioned that already mobile court of Kurigram sent four people to jail including a quazi for supporting and involving with early marriage. Special guest of the seminar Ayesha Taasin Khan said, if better nursing can give to the daughters then they will become the resources of the families. Consequently they can provide significant support to the state and society. The good governance programme of Friendship and other life skill support initiatives of Friendship are causing great effect for the skill development of the marginalized char women and adolescent girls and they are now becoming resources and earning members of the families.
