A four-day fair of Nitol Motors was formally inaugurated in Sylhet on Saturday noon by Nitol-Niloy Group chairman Abdul Matlub Ahmad. Nitol Motors Limited and Jalalabad Motors Sylhet have jointly arranged the grand fair at Sobhanighat in the city to promote the products of Nitol Motors in the region. Matlub, also former president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said in the inauguration ceremony that Notol Motors Limited was working with TATA Motors for more than 30 years. He said that they were providing world class vehicles and services after sale in light of their acquired experience of joint venture. Launching new showrooms across the country is our main object to supply vehicles easily to the clients, provide them with services after sale and to make available retail parts of the vehicles,’ he said. Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Khandaker Sipar Ahmad, TATA Motors Limited product manager Vishal Sharma, Nitol Motors Limited director SA Faruquee, its chief executive officer Mostaq Ahmad, general manager Sirajul Islam, passengers and product manager Shahid Alam and Shah Md Bahadur Alam, among others, attended the function.
Tree Fair begins at Gafargaon

A five-day-long Tree Fair has began at Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Saturday . Local MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel inaugurated the Fair arranged by Gafargaon Upazila Agriculture Extension Directorate . Before inauguration of the Fair, Gafargaon Upazila Agriculture Office distributed more than 200 saplings among students. UNO Dr Shamim Rahman presided over the inaugural ceremony . Upazila Agriculture Officer- Dheepok Raj Paul conducted the meeting. MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel was the chief guest in the discussion meeting. Pouro Mayor S.M.Ikbal Hussain Sumon , AC (Land) Asraf Siddiki, Upazila Parishad Vice-chairman – Moniruzzaman, Mohila Vice-chairman- Reshma Akter spoke in the meeting.
Yaba trader gets two years jail

A mobile court of DB Police led by Senior Magistrate Abu Taher Sayeed in a anti-narcotics drive at Chandapur Shakerpara area in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj on Saturday evening and arrested 1 yaba trader recovered 40 yaba tablets from his possession. The court also sentenced drug trader get two years jailed for yaba and fined taka ten thousand. The convicted person was Md Jinu Bhuiyan (40) son of Nivu Bhuiyan of village Chandapur Shakerpara in Katiadi upazila. He was sent to Kishoreganj district jail.
Schoolgirl ‘kills herself’ by hanging
CUMILLA: A schoolgirl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself with her scarf from the ceiling of her room at Mohalaxmipara village in Brahmanpara Upazila on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Param Mani, 14, daughter of expatriate Shafiqul Islam and class-IX student of Mohalaxmipara Sharif High School of the village. Family sources said they found Param Moni hanging from the ceiling of her room around 12pm and started screaming out. Hearing the hue and cry from the house, next-door-neighbors rushed in and recovered the body and took it to Brahmanpara Health Complex where on-duty doctors 6declared her dead.The body was later shifted to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy, confirmed SI Saifuzzaman of Brahmanpara Police station. “The body bore the familiar injury marks around the throat, suspecting it as hanging.” A case was filed in this connection, Saifuzzaman added, reports UNB.
