Palestinian teen dies from wounds

 A Palestinian teenager has died after being shot by Israeli forces last month during protests and clashes along the Gaza border, the health ministry in the enclave said.
Saheeb Abu Kashef, 16, died late Saturday after being shot on August 3 east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the ministry.

Filipino militants free 3 Indonesian hostages

Muslim militants have freed three Indonesian men they kidnapped at sea early last year off Malaysia then brought them to their jungle hideouts in the southern Philippines, officials said Sunday.
The Indonesians were freed Friday with the help of the Moro National Liberation Front, a rebel group that signed a peace deal with the Philippine government, in Indanan town in Sulu province, police said.

4 killed as roof collapses in heavy rain

A Pakistani government official says the roof of a mud and brick house collapsed amid heavy rain in northwestern Pakistan killing four members of a family and injuring another.
Fahad Khan, a district official in Hangu, said Sunday that a couple and their two minor children were buried under the debris when the roof collapsed the previous night amid heavy rains in the region.

Gunmen kill 5, wound 8 in Mexico City

Mexicans heading into the weekend’s Independence Day celebrations were jolted by a brazen shooting by men dressed as mariachi musicians who killed five people and wounded eight in Garibaldi Plaza, an iconic square in the capital where the bands serenade tourists.
The Mexico City prosecutors’ office said at least one foreigner was among those wounded in Friday night’s attack, which local media said was staged by three gunmen. Four people died initially and a fifth died of her wounds at a hospital Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
