Youth held with arms in Jhenidah
JHENIDAH: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested a young man along with a pistol from Sura village in Harinakundu upazila on Monday afternoon. The arrestee was identified as Saidul Islam, 32, son of Karom Ali of the village. On information, a team of Rab-6 conducted the drive in the village and arrested Saidul with a pistol, said Abdullah Al Mehedi, company commander of Jhenidah camp. A case was filed in this connection Harinakundu Police Station, he added, reports BSS.
Rooftop solar panel to be set up in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR: Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) will set up solar panels on the rooftop of government buildings in the district this year. District BPDB officials said under the project on ‘Implementation of Grid Tied Rooftop Solar pv (Pick Voltage) System Installation on Government Building on a Build, Owned and Operate (BOO) Basis’, the solar panels will be set up. He said the tender process is underway for setting up the solar panels, reports BSS.

A mobile court of RAB- 14 led by Senior Megistrate Abu Taher Sayeed in a anti-narcotics drive at Newtown area in Kishoreganj town on Monday evening arrested one notorious drug trader recovered 60 yaba tablets from his possession. The court also sentenced drug trader get two years jailed for yaba and fined taka ten thousand. The convicted are Faruk Mia (30) son of Abdul Majid of village West Tarapasha (Newtown) in Kishoreganj town. The convicted Faruk Mia is involved in criminal cases. He was sent to Kishoreganj district jail
