Sewing machines distributed in C’nawabganj

A non-government organization Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society has distributed 25 sewing machines free of cost among ultra poor women at Chowdala union under Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Sunday. The machines in association with European Union and non-government organization Palli Karmo Sahayok Foundation under The European Union’s Food Security Programme for Bangladesh. A function was arranged on the occasion at the unit office of Proyas at Chowdala with the executive director of Proyas Hasib Hossain in the chair. Among others, vice chairman of Gomostapur upazila Tajer Hossain as chief guest, upazila social service officer Kanchan Kumar Das and journalist Nasim Mahmud as special guest, coordinator of Proyas Shah Azad Iqbal, project coordinator Mizanur Rahman, and beneficiary Pantara Begum spoke on the occasion.
Day long health campaign held in Thakurgaon

Good Neighbors, an NGO organised a day -long health campaign with the help of Life’s Good (LG) was held at Niyamatpur agriculture Co-operative Samity office premises under Pirganj Upazila in Thakurgaon district on Monday. On the occasion a colourful rally was brought out from agriculture Co-operative Samity office premises and paraded through the main road of the locality . A good number of child, NGO workers and local elites took part in the rally. A discussion meeting was held at co-operative samite office premises Joseph Tutul Biswas Project Manager of Pirganj community development project of Good Neighbors in the chair where Dr. Abdul Masid Upazila Health and Family Planning officer was present as Chief Guest. Jhenidah IHT students demonstrate to press home 10- point demands

The students of Jhenidah Institute of Health Technology on Tuesday had demonstrated in front of their institution to press home their 10 point demands. The demonstrators had demanded to bring them under the proposed Bangladesh Diploma Medical Board as against state medical faculty at no delay. The organizers said, as a part of their programme, they had submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Shafiqul Islam. Nurul Ahmed Sabuj, Mujaddhidul islam Raju and Leon among the agitated students spoke in the short discussion in front of IHT. In the discussion the speakers had warned for tougher movement if their demand is not fulfilled at an early date.
Tk 1 lakh donated to Bagerhat Press Club

Alhaj Adv. Mir Shawkat Ali Badsha, MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2 and founder President of Bagerhat Press Club handed over cash Tk.1 lakh to the office-bearers of the club as donation to the club for the construction works of the top roof of its extended building in a simple function held in the auditorium of the club on Tuesday with its President Babul Sardar in the chair in presence of local journalists and the guests. The MP assured the members of the Press Club that he would try to help the club financially in future for the construction of the proposed rest house of the club on its second floor. The MP urged the members of the club to publish accurate, objective, unbiased and constructive news in their respective news medias.
