Female constable sent to jail

Milki Akhtar, constable and her cop father retired Subedar Abdul Latif Gazi of Charkawa under Sadar upazila of Barishal sent to jail on Monday after accused for recruitment under freedom fighters quota using fake certificate. Sub Inspector Khokan Chandra of Barishal Kotwali police station, acknowledging the fact said Milki Akhtar recruited as a constable of police department on February 20, 2010 under quota preserved for their family members using freedom fighters certificate of her father retired Subedar Abdul Latif Gazi. After completion of six-month training Milki joined in police department as a female constable at Barishal and serving here for long eight years. Recently after scrutiny of the freedom fighter’s certificate of Abdul Latif Gazi proved as fake and a case was lodged as per direction of police headquarter on May 30, 2018 by Sub Inspector Kabir Hossain as complainant against father and daughter in this connection.
Steps taken for registration of poultry farmers
RAJSHAHI: Steps have been taken to bring all the poultry farmers and feed sellers under registration aims at ensuring safe and good poultry farming practices for sound public health. Department of Livestock Services (DLS) has taken the decision at a meeting with district and upazila level DLS officials, poultry farmers and other stakeholders. Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB) organized the meeting at Paba Upazila DLS office on Thursday afternoon in association with an issue-based project titled ‘Food Safety Governance in Poultry Sector in Bangladesh’, UKaid and British Council. Chaired by District Livestock Officer (DLO) Dr Zulfikar Akhter Hossain, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Upazila Livestock Officer Ismail Haque, Veterinary Surgeon Dr Khandaker Sagar Ahmed, Poultry Farmer Moina Begum, Feed Seller Rejaul Karim, CAB Field Coordinator Omor Decosta and Field Officers Mohidul Hassan and Mozammel Haque., reports BSS.
