Engineer gets 2 years jail for yaba

A mobile court of RAB-14 in a drive led by Senior Megistrate Abu Taher Sayeed at West Tarapasha area in the town on Sunday and arrested one engineer, recovered 20 piece yaba tablets. The mobile court gets two years jail and fined Tk. 10 thousand for yaba. The convicted person are Engineer Ariful Islam Hasib (29) son of Late Mahabubul Islam at West Tarapasha in Kishoreganj town. He was sent to Kishoreanj District Jail.
Housewife drown in Katiadi
A housewife drowned while taking bath in Chandpore village under Katiadi’s the Kurigahi river on Monday morning. The deceased indentified as Shahana Akhter (40) wife of Md. Alaluddin a farmer of Chandpore in Katiadi upazila. Katiadi Police Station Office-in-Charge (OC) Zakir Rabbani said that, received on information police rushed the spot and dead body recovered from the river. The body sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

More than 150 battery operated three wheeler damaged

As per decision of court Barishal City Corporation has scraped 152 battery operated three-wheelers. The scraping operation was started on Friday and ended on Saturday. Later the scraped vehicle has been sold in auction as Tk 7 thousand per vehicle, told Tybur Rahman a staff of Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) of Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) AFM Faizur Rahman said these vehicles were seized by law and forces agency from October 2017 after failed to show any legal document. Then according to decision of court the seized vehicles were dump-yard of BCC at Amanatganj area and we sold the scraped vehicles calling auction.
