2 drug traders get two years jail

A mobile court of RAB- 14 led by Senior Magistrate Abu Taher Sayeed in a anti-narcotics drive arrested two drug traders including women and recovered 23 yaba tablets from Siddaswary Kalibari (Josodal) area in Kishoreganj Sadar on Saturday night. The court also sentenced two years jailed for yaba and fined taka ten thousand each. The convicted are Zakir Hossain (23) son of Hadis Mia of village Tarapasha Boila and Shahana (25) wife of Hridioy Mia of village Josodal in Kishoreganj sadar. They were sent to Kishoreganj district jail.
Youth held with gun, bullets in Bhairab
Police in a drive at Syed Nazrul Islam Bridge cheque post in Bhairab port arrested one youth bus passenger and recovred light gun, a country made and 2 rounds bullets from his precession town on Monday morning. Arrested person are Naidul Islam Babu (22) son of Keramat Khan at Charpara village in Chitolmar upazila of Bagerhat. Bhairab Police Station Oficer-in-Charge (Investigation) Md. Bahalul said that on secret information a armed youth bus passenger named Babu from Sylhet. A case arms case was filed in this connection with Bhairab Police Station.
Orientation programme held

Orientation programme for the students of Diploma-in-engineering of Polytechnic Institute in Chapainawabganj under the session of 2018-2019 was held on Saturday amid festivity. A gathering of guardians were also held. Polytechnic Institute authority organised the programme at their auditorium which was followed by a discussion meeting. Abu Hayat Md. Rahmatullah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) of Chapainawabganj addressed as the chief guest at the programme while Ejabul Haque Buli, principal of Birshrestha Captain Mohiuddin Jahngir College and Chairman of Moharajpur union parishad and Abul Kahyer, Chairman of Baroghoria union parishad addressed as special guests. AJM Masudur Rahman, vice principal of Polytechnic Institute, its chief instructor Shahidul Islam, addressed, among others. Principal of the Institute engineer Humayaun Kabir Khan presided over the programme. A total of 1,200 students admitted at the Polytechnic Institute under the session of 2018-2019. All teachers and more than thousand of freshers of the institute including their guardians took part at the programme.
Renesa Hospital starts journey in Jessore
