College girl commits suicide in Jashore

A female college student reportedly hanged herself with the ceiling fan of her house at Shoronpur village in Manirampur Upazila in the district on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Shetu, 18, student of Jhikargacha Mohila College and daughter of Nishter Ali of Shoronpur village. Sub-inspector Ayenuddin, in-charge of Khada police out-post, said the body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police also recovered a suicide note from her room, he said. Deceased family members said Shetu’s husband Mostafizur Rahman Apu married another girl three days ago which caused huge mental stress on Shetu. Shetu’s father filed a case with Manirampur Police Station in this connection.

A newly-married couple has been arrested by Charghat Thana Police in Rajshahi on July 27 night from Dinajpur district. Their families do not compromise of the marriage. They have taken charge of law and orders at Rajshahi Court. Arrested couples are identified as Majharul village Talbariwa son of Moine Uddin and Siree Nipan Chandra Mondal’s daughter Popi Rani Village Paranpur Charghat Thana district of Rajshahi. Both are runaway on July 22, 2018 of their area. And they got marriage of Dhaka CMMP Court on 25 July. According to source Charghat Thana Police arrest them Dinajpur Plaja from 4th floor under Sadar Police Station District of Dinajpur on 27 July, 2018 said SI Abu Taher. In this regard OC Nazrul Islam Said, this marriage of love affairs, however they got marriage. But now conflict is Muslims and Hindus family. But newly married are highly educated person. The man is masters of CA and a woman is Student of Sociology in Rajshahi College. And finally they have to send to Rajshahi Court.
Young man killed at Chuadanga

One young man Hashibul Islam (35), son of Kuddus Ali of village Ailhash under Alamdanga Upazilla in Chuadanga district was killed by miscreants at Hossainpur Carows field recently . Victim Hashibul Islam was sitting in his home and a group of miscreants kidnapped and killed him on the spot. Alamdanga Thana Police recovered the dead body and sent to Chuadanga morgue for postmortem. A case has been registered with Alamdanga thana in this connection.

In the view exchange programme , renowned educationist Prof Dr. Fakrul Alam, Pro- Vice Chancellor, East West University, Sylhet , was present and it was organised by Department of English, Leading University, Sylhet. The deliberation together Exchange of Views , free deliberation was held on Thursday at Conference Hall (gallery-1) of University at Ragib Nagor, Kamal Bazar, South Surma, Sylhet. The Programme was presided over by Md. Rezaul Karim, Assistant Professor of Department of English and Director, International Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Leading University, Sylhet. Assistant Professors Muhammad Nazrul Islam and Rumpa Sharmin, Senior Lecturers Mrs. Manfath Jabin Haque and Shammi Akter – all of the Department of English took part in the programme .Besides, most students of English Department under the university attended in the conference.
Khas land distributed to landless people in Pirojpur
PIROJPUR: The government distributed khas land among 267 landless families including Freedom Fighters (FF) of the district during the last 2017-2018 fiscal year. District administrative sources said the government earlier decided to distribute khas land among landless people as well as poor freedom fighters. A total of 49.94 acres of land have been distributed among the landless people and freedom fighters in four upazilas of the district, executive magistrate of the district M Masum Billah said, reports BSS.
