A driver of a battery run van was killed when his van collided head on with a loaded pickup on Bagerhat-Pirojpur Highway near at Signboard bazar under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Munsur Paik,60 son of one Mohammad Paik of village Afra within Badhal Union under the same Upazila. Police informed that in the morning the ill-fated man was going towards Signboard Bazar by his van and when he reached the place of occurrence his van collided head on with the speeding pickup that was coming from the opposite direction. As a result, he was fatally injured. He succumbed to his injuries on his way to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital.
Man killed in Manikganj road crash
MANIKGANJ: A shopkeeper was killed as a truck ran over him on Manikganj-Singair road atBymileBus Stand in Singair upazila on Wednesday. Hashmat Ali Mallik, 37, a grocery shop owner was killed when a stone-laden truck hit him while crossing the road around 5:30 am, police said. On information, police seized the truck but could not arrest anyone, reports UNB.
