Prado jeep stolen from Mongla Port recovered

The luxurious imported Prado jeep that was stolen from the well protected car shed of Mongla Sea Port was at last recovered from a motor garage in the North City Corporation of Dhaka by a team of RAB-1. The recovered car was handed over to Tuhin Mondol, Investigation Officer of the case and Officer-in-charge (investigation) of Mongla PS on Saturday morning by the RAB-1. Md Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, Officer-in-charge of Mongla PS told, luxurious Prado jeep worth Tk2.5 crs that was imported through Mongla Port was stolen from the well protected No.5 car shed on June 4. A well organized gang of car lifters lifted the car from the car shed with the collaboration of the employers who were in-charge of the shed, took the delivery of the car through submitting fake papers and documents and left the port area. When the matter was leaked out it created a sensation among the high officials of the port authorities.
Disaster hit families get rice in Domar

On occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr, rice was distributed among 1500 poor families in two unions of Domar upazila who were affected badly in last month’s nor’wester and hailstorm as part of their rehabilitation arranged by high court lawyer Barrister Imran Kabir Chowdhury Johny yesterday. Stake holders of Ketkibari and Jorabari unions were get the aid yesterday and more such steps would be taken in phases in other affected areas too, informed organisers. As part of the programmme, rice distribution first took place among beneficiaries of Ketkibari union at special govt. girls’ primary school premises in the morning and then at Azizarer hat premises in Jorabari union in the afternoon. Each of the stakeholders in both the unions received 15 kg rice and all of them expressed satisfaction at the generous effort as it is some sort of relieve to them. Among others present in the occasion were Domar Upazila Parishad Chairman Abdur Razzak Basunia, ex deputy Commander of district unit of Muktijoddha Sangsad also father of Barrister Imran Kabir Johny Waliul Kabir Chowdhury, Union Parishad member Moklesur Rahman, social activist Abdul Kader and others. Upazila Chairman Abdur Razzak Basunia in his speech urged solvent people to come forward with more aids for disaster affected people following example of Barrister Imran Kabir Chowdhury Johny.
Listed drug trader held in Netrakona
NETRAKONA: Police arrested a listed drug trader from Jalshukar Dholamulapara village in Sadar upazila on Sunday night. A team of police conducted a drive in the village and arrested Mohammad Alim, 35, son of late Mannan, at night, said Md BorhanUddin, officer-in-charge of Netrakona Model Police Station. Police recovered 530 gram heroin, 10 bottles of Phensidyl, 105 Yaba tablets and 2kg hemp from his possession, reports UNB.
