Discussion on PM’s 10 special projects held

Information Department and Youth Development Department jointly organised a discussion meeting on Prime Minister’s Special 10 (Ten) project held at Local Youth Training Centre in the town on Wednesday. Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department Md. Shafiqul Islam attended as chief guest while District Senior Information Officer Md. Shamsul Haque presided over . It was addressed among others by DPEO Md Sajjad Hossion, Deputy Director of Youth Development Rokn Uddin Bhuiyan, District CAB President and senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito and District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal. DD Agriculture Md. Shafiqul Islam said that the present government with dynamic leadership of PM’s Sheikh Hasina has given top priority to skill development education for transforming the youth community into competent workforce. Senior Information Officer Shamsul Haque said that the country needs more skilled resources.
Two held with 19 gold bars in Chuadanga
CHUADANGA: Customs Intelligence officials arrested two people along with 19 gold bars weighing 2.25 kg from Darshana Joynagar Checkpost in Damurhuda upazila yesterday. The arrestees were identified as Nurul Islam, 46, son of Mahiuddin of Keraniganj in Dhaka and Masud Rana, 40, son of Nurul Islam Bapari of Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj district. Tipped off, a team of intelligence officials recovered the gold bars hidden inside a bag of the arrestees while they were heading towards India by a bus around 11 am, said Saifur Rahman, deputy director of Customs Intelligence in Benapole. The market price of the seized gold bars is Tk 1.10 crore, he added, reports UNB.
Two ‘robbers’ held with arms, ammo in Satkhira
SATKHIRA: Detectives in a drive arrested two suspected robbers along with arms and ammunition at Choygharia in Sadar upazila early yesterday. The arrestees were identified as Mozaffar Hossain, 38, son of Mohamamd Ali of Kaliganj upazila and Ataur Rahman Bablu, 32, son of Mozammel Haq of Sadar upazila. Being tipped off that a gang of robbers preparing to commit robbery, a team of DB police conducted a drive near Lashkar Felling Station on Satkhira-Jashore road, said Inspector Shahrier Hasan of Detective Branch of Satkhira police. During the drive, detectives arrested Bablu and Mozaffar along with one shutter gun, one bullet, five sharp weapons and four bombs, he added.
Drug trader’ held in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: Police in a drive arrested a suspected drug trader from Tatarpur area of Charghatupazila on Sunday night. A team of police conducted the drive around 10pm and arrested MoktarHossain, son of SaidurRahman of Chamta village along with a foreign pistol and 200 Yaba tablets, said Md Shahidullah, superintendent of Rajshahi Police.The arrestee was accused in eight cases, he said, reports UNB.
