District Information Office, Bowlai Union Parished of Kishoreganj jointly arranged an advocacy workshop on women and child development, birth registration, against drug, terrisom, motivation and communication activities held at Bowlai Union Parished hall room in Kishoreganj on Wednesday. ADC (General & D.S) Torafder Md. Akther Jamil was attended as chief guest. Senior District Information Officer Md. Shamsul Haque presided over the orientation workshop. It was addressed among others by Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Office Dr. Towfiqul Alam, CAB President & Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club Secretary Ashraful Islam, Associate Professor Choyon Kumar Bhadhara of Gurudayal Govt. College and Bowlai Union Chairman Awlad Hossen. At least 40 persons including, School Teacher, Imam, Sports Organizar, NGOs Worker, Journalist, health visitor joing the workshop.
Cop killed in Jashore road mishap
JASHORE: A police officer was killed afternoon in a road accident at Nabnagar area of Jhikargacha upazila on Jashore- Benapole Highway recently. The deceased was identified as Ahsanullah, 36, in-charge of Chingra Police Camp in Keshabpur upazila and resident of Abdullahpur in Munshiganj sadar upazla.Additional superintendent of Jeshore police, Naimur Rahman said that the incident took place when a good-laden truck hit Ahsanullah’s motor-cycle at around3pm, killing him on the spot.The police seized the truck, but its driver, however, managed to flee.
Cop’s hanging body found in Faridpur
FARIDPUR: Police here recovered the body of one of their colleague from the residential quarters at Police lines of Sadar upazila recently.The deceased was identified as Md Bodiuzzaman, 38, wireless in-charge of Kotwali Police Station and resident of Bagharpara upazila in Jashore district. Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station AFM Nasim said Bodiuzzaman’s roommate saw his body hanging from a ceiling fan, after breaking into his room around 1:45 pm. The body was sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
Rajshahi man attempts suicide after ‘killing’ wife
RAJSHAHI: A man tried to commit suicide allegedly after killing his wife in Tanore upazila on Tuesday.The deceased was identified as Summatun Begum, 32, wife of Nisar Uddin of Juanpur village in the upazila.Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Tanore Police Station Rezaul Karim said Nisar took poison in the early hours after strangulating his wife to death over a family feud.Later, neighbours informed police.Nisar was arrested and taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for treatment while the body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said, reports UNB.
