3 drug dealers held in Rajshahi with phensedyl

Police detained three alleged drug dealers with 243 bottles of phensedyl from Airport area of Rajshahi city on Tuesday morning. The detainees are identified as Hasibul, 35, son of Azizul Huq, a resident of Fudkipara area in Rajshahi city, Rohomat, 22, son of Kalam Uddin, a resident of Majhipara police line area in Gopalganj district and Hridoy, 21, son of Alauddin, aresident of Indar area in Pirojpur district. Assistant sub-inspector of Airport police station Samaur said, a team of police suspected them while they were riding on a speedy car and then arrested the accused along with 243 bottles of phensedyl from the area. A car was also seized from their possession at that time, the ASI said.
World Telecom and Information Society Day observed

Kishoreganj District Administration, BTCL and others mobile company arranged a colourfull rally, seminar, discussion, servicing marking the World Tele Communication and Information Society Day yesterday. This year theme is “Enabling the positive use of all Artificial Intelligence for all”. A discussion meeting on Digitilasation and Telecommunication in Bangladesh was held at local Collectorate Conference Room on Thursday morning. DC Md Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury presided over the discussion. It was addressed among others by ADC (Education and ICT) and Deputy Secretary Golam Md. Bhuiya, ADM Alamgir Hossein, Senior District Information Officer Shamsul Hoque, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, D.E.O Mostafizur Rahman and Engineer Md. Zakir Hossion of BTCL. Later a colourfull rally was brought out in the town led by D.D Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury marking the Day.
Science, Tech fair ends in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA: A three-day long “National Science and Technology Fair-2018” has ended at Gaibandha Govt. Boys’ High School of the town here on Saturday amid much enthusiasm to the students, teachers and visitors. District administration has arranged the fair with the main thrust of making science and technology popular and projecting new innovation marking the “National Science and Technology Week” at the directive of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The objectives of the fair are to widely spread a message about the significance of scientific applications in the daily life of the people and display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. A discussion meeting was also held at the hall room of the school in the afternoon with additional deputy commissioner (General) Muhammad Mizanur Rahman in the chair. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gautam Chandra Pal attended the function as the chief guest and superintendent of police (SP) Abdul Mannan Miah was present as the special guest.DC Gautam Chandra Pal said our society and nation were being benefited much from the science and this fair would undoubtedly contribute utmost to create scientifically enlightened nation. In this context, the DC urged all to patronize the mini scientists so that they could create innovative projects and research it properly to give something for the nation to push forward it towards development, reports BSS.
‘Thief’ lynched in Joypurhat
JOYPURHAT: An elderly man was reportedly beaten to death by a mob in suspicion of theft attempt at Ghashuria village in the district headquarter recently. The deceased was identified as Yasin Mia, 61, of Tajpur-Banpur area in the same upazila. Inspector Md Maminul Haque of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station said locals caught Yasin along with equipment used to commit burglary and gave him a good beating branding himself as a thief. Later, Yasin was taken to Joypurhat Modern District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon, police said, reports UNB.
