Reception to SSC students at Charghat

Yusufpur Degree College accorded a reception to the students of SSC-2018 in Charghat Upazila in Rajshahi recently. The college authorities have announced free study of new admission students in this college. This college was established in 1994 in Yusufpur union of the upazila in Rajshahi. A total of 270 SSC students attended the reception. Preside over by the College Managing Committee President and Charghat AL General Secretary Fakrul Islam , UNO Ashraful Islam and OC Nazrul Islam , Principal Nurul Alamin were present as special guests. Besides, all the teachers and teachers of this college were also present. College Chhattra League President Swapan, Vice President Akash Islam, General Secretary Russell Sarkar and atleast 270 SSC students of Yusufpur Agricultural School, Gobindpur Madrasa, Badruya and Joypur High School were present.
Brilliant student commits suicide in Baraigram

A brilliant student Riyad Hossain (15) committed suicide under the wheel of a speedy truck on Thursday in Baraigram upazila under Natore district. Riyad Hossain was a student of class nine of the Baraigram Pilot High School and son of Abdul Khaleque of the village Bagdom under Baraigram upazila. Riyad Hossain’s mother Rashida Begum said that he demanded a motor-cycle if he get GPA-5 in JSC Exam. I agreed to his proposal. Accordingly, he studied hard and he got GPA-5 in last JSC Exam. but I did not give him a motor-cycle due to want of money. Although, five months passed since last JSC result. On Thursday morning, Riyad Hossain mentiond his demand again of a motor-cycle. I said that I shall buy a a motor-cycle for you in a short time. But he was very unhappy hearing my speak and committed suicide under the wheels of a speedy truck at Rajaker mure of Baraigram upazila on Bonpara – Hatikumrul road.
Youth sent to jail for selling HSC question paper

A Rajshahi court recently sentenced a youth for five-year imprisonment for selling a set of question paper of Higher Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2014. Saiful Islam, Judge of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday sent Almas Uddin, 30, son of Alam Uddin of Gaora village at Charghat Upazila of the district, to jail after hearing closing arguments of both the prosecution and defence. The court also fined Tk 5,000 or three months more imprisonment.According to the prosecution, police arrested Almas Uddin with a set of four-page question paper of accounting subject during the HSC examination from near an examination centre in Charghat upazila on May 5, 2014 while he was selling the hand-written the question paper. On the day, Charghat Police Station sub-inspector Ruhul Amin filed a case against him under Public Examinations (Offences) Act 1980. The court examined the recorded deposition of prosecution witnesses and other relevant evidences and finally handed down the verdict.
