Orientation workshop held at Rampal

An orientation workshop arranged by District Information Office was held in Rampal recently on Awareness Bulding Activities for the development of children and women’s nutrition with the participation of leading personalities of the area under GOB program. Being presided over by UNO of Rampal Tushar Kumar Paul, Upazilla Chairman Sk. Md. Abu Said was present as chief guest. District Information Officer Md. Farid Uddin, Thana Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md Masum Iqbal, Sadar UP Chairman Alhaj Jamil Hasan Jamu, Rajnagar UP Chairman Sardar Abdul Hannan , Gourambha UP Chairman Gazi Gias Uddin, Uzarkur UP Chairman Gazi Aktarujjaman, District Assiatant Information Officer Pavel Das, Press Club President Howlader Abdul Hadi, Secretary Md. Saiful Alam Boktier, Vice president Atiar Rahman, journalist Md. Bakibillah, Imam of the Mosque, Priest of the Temple, UP members, Mohila UP members, teachers and NGO representatives were present in the workshop. In the day long workshop , the speaker cast light on nutrition of the pregnant mother and children, terrorism and its solution, disaster management, birth registration ,drug addiction ,environment and cleanliness and the steps taken by the present government.
Meeting on diversion, children Act 2013 protection held

A meeting on Diversion and Children act 2013 for child protection was arranged by District Judgeship in conference room of district court building, Khulna on Sunday. Begum Jesmin Anwar, Senior Judge, District and Sessions Court, Khulna inaugurated and chaired the meeting. Md Rejaul Karim, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Court-1 Khulna and Children Court Khulna, played the key role as resource person and main discussant of the meeting. The other discussant of the meeting were Md Shahidul Islam, Learned Judge, Metropolitan Sessions Court Khulna, Md Manzurul Hossain, Chief Judicial Magistrate Khulna, Sheikh Mahenul Huque, Deputy Director of District Social Service Office Khulna, Md Shafiqul Islam, Probation Officer, CMM Court Khulna, Jamil Hassam, Child Protection Officer, UNICEF Khulna and ATM Zakir Hossain, Executive Director of JJS Khulna. Discussion went on the protective measures for the children in conflict with the law according to the children act 2013 with special focus on diversion.
Young man held with skin , head of deer

A young man was arrested along with flesh, skin and head of a spotted deer of Sundarbans from Katakhali village under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district while the flesh was being shared among 3/4 young men on Thursday by a joint force of Forest Guards and river police. Md. Shahin Kabir, Ranger of Chandpai forest range in the Eastern Division of Sundarbans disclosed, on Thursday morning a deer of Sundarbans crossed the river Pashur that separates the forest from the human habitations (from Jongra area), entered Joymonirghol area and took shelter in a house named Napitbari of village Katakhali under Mongla Upazila. Then some young men caught the deer, slaughtered the same in a bushy land and began to share its flesh among them.
