Seminar on women empowerment held in Rangpur

Speakers underscored the need for change of mindset for women empowerment in every sector to ensure the sustainable growth .They made the call on Thursday in a seminar styled “Girls, Never Look Back!” an education project funded by U.S Department of State under Global Teacher Grant implemented by International Research and Exchange Board [IREX] at Robertsongonj High School & College, Rangpur as part of its country wide program in fifteen selected schools. Former Director Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service[RDRS] Bangladesh , Manjushree Shaha attended as Chief guest while, Channel I senior staff correspondent Merina Lovely was present as special guest with Principal, Zakir Hossain in the chair. Teaching Assistant, Sokina Begum presented the key note paper.

Kishoreganj Collectorate Staff Club arranged a beautiful Day and a Happy New Year- 1425, education stiffen and retired staff reception at local collectorate Staff Club Auditorium on Saturday. DC Md Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury was attended as Chief Guest while Staff Club President Md. Khademul Islam in the chair. It was addressed among others by ADC (Gen ) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil as special guest, Ex. TIB-Sanak President Saiful Hoque Mollah Dulu, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Senior Megistrate Abu Taher Sayeed, Former District Nazir Md. Golab Rabbani and Md. Shariful Islam. Deputy Commissioner Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury distributing the certificate stiffens among 30 brilliant students. Later, a cultural function held at Staff Club Auditorium.
Mobile Court convicts two pharmacy owners in Kishoreganj
A mobile court of Kishoreganj led by Senior Magistrate Abu Saher Sayeed in a drive at Gaital area in the town on Thursday afternoon and recovered huge illegal sexual tablets yaba, pathedin injections and the mobile court awarded one year jail to two pharmacy owners and fined Tk. 10,000/- each. The convicted persons are Md. Ziaur Rahman of Sumaiya Medical Hall and Md. Rasel Miah of Al Falaha Medical Hall. hey were sent to Kishoreganj District jail.
Food officer killed in Nilphamari road mishap

Obaidul Haque (50), Officer- In -Charge of Chilahati Food Warehouse was killed in a road accident in Nilphamari on Wednesday. Nuranabi, a rice trader was seriously injured in the incident. The accident occurred around 8pm on Wednesday at Nilphamari- Domar road in Dharonijong area. The victim, Obaidul Haque, was OC of Chilahati Food Warehouse of Nilphamari since January this year. His house is located in Gangachara upazila of Rangpur district. Besides, the injured businessman Nuranabi was being treated at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Locals said that Nilphamari was returning to Chilahati on a motorcycle after completing the monthly meeting at the District Controller of Food Office. At the time of the Nilphamari-Doma road, a truck coming from the opposite direction in Kaliganj area actually pushed them. Later, he rescued them and sent them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment at Domar and then from there, Obaidul Haque died at night.
