BGB seizes 10 gold bars in Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh personnel, in a raid, seized a total of 10 gold bars weighing 1.7 kilograms from Putkhali frontier under Benapole port police station on Friday .Lieutenant Colonel Tariqul Hakim, Commanding Officer, 21 Border Guard Battalion told that tipped off the BGB men seized the gold bars worth Tk 50 lakh chasing a gold smuggler on Friday noon. None was arrested in this connection. The gold bars were deposited to Benapole customs after filing a case with Benapole Port Station police, the BGB CO added.
Left leader Gobinda Sarker’s abduction anniv observed
The 16th abduction anniversary of left leaning leader Gobinda Sarker observed in Jessore on Saturday. Keshabpur upazila unit Bangladesh Krishak Sangram Samily chalked programmes marking the day. Gobinda Sarker, leader of various left movements, was abducted allegedly by extremist gang leader Mrinal on March 17, 2002, stated a press release of the party.

Science and technology based quality education is the very important for students and students need more attention for their study. He told this as Chief Guest at a reception programme in Kulaura Degree College Auditorium under Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar on Thursday afternoon. College Governing Body Chairman Md. Abdul Matin MP attended as chair in the programme and Assistant Professor Md. Moshiur Rahman and lecturer Md. Badrul Islam contacted this programme. Azam J Chowdhury, chairman of East Coast Group said, ‘Rome is not built in a day. Think it and try to learn and learn more for your improvement. In could be proved your talent. It is your time to build yourself.’
In this time he also declared to donate an academic building for the college.
Consumers’ Rights Day observed in Kishoreganj

Consumers’ Association of Bangladesh (CAB), National Consumer Association Protection (DNCRP) including District Administration jointly arranged a discussion, seminar, postering, hand bill distribution and cultural function marking the World Consumers’ Rights Day 2018 on Thursday in district town and Upazila Headquarters. A discussion & Seminar on Making Digital Market Places Fairer held at local collectorate conference room on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury attended as chief guest while ADC (General & DS) Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil in the chair. CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Senior Megistrate Abu Taher Sayeed and DNCRP Senior Assistant Director Md. Ibrahim Hossion were attended special guest. It was addressed among others by Sonak President Freedom Fighter Professor M.A Goni, The Daily Ajker Desh Editor Kazi Shaheen Khan, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, CAB Vice-President and women leader Bilkis Begum, General Secretary Monour Hossain Rony, Formar Press Club President A.K. Nasim Khan, BRTA Assistant Director Engineer Shafiqul Alam Sarker, Sadar CAB Convener Assistant Prof Samiul Hoque Mollah, College Student Papia Akter and Megistrate Aklima Begum.

DC Md. Sarowar Murshed Chowdhury said the governent would take initiative to thwart any digital fraudulence as part of its effort to ensure consumer rights. Following the growing popularity of e-commerce these would be digital fraudulence. CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito said, referring to the government election manifesto in 2008, Consumer Rights Protection Law has been passed in 2009 and Food Safety Law 2013. The consumers to be careful to defend own rights. A rally was brought out in the town led by DC Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury and CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito.
