Newly posted DC meets with journalists in Netrakona

The newly posted Deputy Commissioner of Netrakona Main-ul-Islam urged the newspersons of the district to flourish objective journalism for upholding the truth and keeping the people away from all sorts of falsehood and confusion. He sought whole -hearted cooperation of the journalists for implementaion of development programs of the government as saying that the journalists can play an important role to help the district administration to solve local problems as well as to ensure hassle free government service delivery networks for the people through higlighting actual picture of the society. The newly joined deputy commissioner Mr. Islam was addressing at a views-exchanging meeting with local journalists at his official conference room here on Wednesday. The meeting was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen ) Netrakona Khalid Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rev) Ariful Islam and senior journalists Haider Jahan Chowdhory, Shamolebdu Paul, M Faqrul Haque, Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhory, Muklesur Rahman, AKM Abdullah, Bajan Das, Alpana Begum and Kamal Hussain.
Information Fair begins in Bagerhat

Under the joint initiativs of Bagerhat District Administration and Sachetan Nagarik Committee( SANAK ), Bagerhat a 2-day long Information Fair was started in the local Swadhinata Uddayan on Wednesday morning. The Information Fair was ceremonially inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alamgir, V C of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology as Chief Guest. Just after the opening of the fair a lively discussion meeting was held there on the topic styled as Right to Information Act -2009 with Tapan Kumar Biswas, DC, Bagerhat in the chair. Adv Ram Krisna Basu, Convener , Observance Committee of the Information Fair-2018 and member of Bagerhat SANAK explained the need and importance of holding the information fair in his address of welcome. While Prof Dr Muhammad Alamgir was addressing the meeting as chief guest said, Bangladesh is now a role model of development. The discussion meeting was also addressed among others by Prof. Mozaffar Hossain, President of Durnity Protirodh Committe, Bagerhat, A K Azad Firoj Tipu, President of Bagerhat District Bar Association, Rajesh Adhikari, Senior Programme Manager of TIB (Transparency International Bangladesh) and Information Officer of Bagerhat.

The function was conducted by SANAK member Shaikh Mujibor Rahman and TIB Area Manager Bashir Ahmed. A number of stalls were sprung around the fair by the different Government departments, autonomous bodies and NGOs.
