 2 killed in road accident Sherpur

Two people were killed in a road accident at Korsa Badagor village in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district. The killed were identified as Babu Mia(45) and Billal Hossain(46) of Kishorgonj district.Local sources and police said Babu and Billal are cow traders. They were going to Rajibpur from Kishorgonj taking a pickup van to buy cows. At Korsa Badagor area in Dhaka to Rajibpur highway in a face to face collision with a bus, Babu Mia and Billal Hossain killed on the spot. The pickup van driver also injured seriously.
Dialogue on using modern tech in agriculture held at C’nawabganj

A dialogue on using modern technology in agriculture and the development of livestock was held at the auditorium of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila Parishad on Friday. The dialogue was held between the upazila level government officials and the people of Alatuli and Narayonpur union of Sadar upazila. It was arranged by non-government organization Agriculture Sustainable and Socio Economic Development Organization (ASSEDO) under its Nadi O Jibon -2 project with the association of Concern World Wide and funded by Irish Aid. Held with the executive director of ASSEDO Agriculturist Rabiul Alom in the chair, it was addressed among others, by Chapainawabganj sadar upazila nirbahi officer Mirza Shakila Dil Hasin as chief guest, senior scientific officer of Regional Horticulture Research Station (RHRS), Chapainawabganj Dr. Jamir Uddin, rural development officer of sadar upazila Shamsur Rahman, former upazila agriculture officer Abul Hossain Patwary, president of local Char Alliance Shahjahan Ali, project manager of ASSEDO Nurul Islam, secretary of Chapainawabganj Zila Press Club Dablu Kumar Ghosh and beneficiary Shawkat Ara.
Foreign win recovered, 2 held in Manikganj

Shibalaya police recovered a huge quantity of foreign wine and beer from a passenger bus and arrested two persons from Paturia Ghat on Friday. Acting on a tip- off, a team of Shibalaya Police raided a Daulatdia bound passenger bus (Dhaka Metro -Ba-14-5683) of Tisha Paribahan and recovered 4,300 cans of beer and 48 bottles of foreign wine worth of about Taka 50 lakh after searching sacks keeping inside the bus. The arrestees were identified as bus driver Mamun Hossain(29), son of Sultan Hossain of Morel Ganj upazila of Bagerhat distric and helper Alamin (32),son of Yousuf Ali of village Mathabhanga under Badiaghata upazila of Khulna district. A case was recorded with Shibalaya Police Station in this connection.
