Trump visits Florida shooting survivors

US President Donald Trump on Friday visited a Florida hospital to offer comfort to those wounded in a mass school shooting, after the FBI admitted it mishandled a tip about the troubled teen behind the massacre that left 17 dead.
The arrival of Trump and his wife Melania came at the end of a difficult day for the families of those killed in Wednesday’s rampage at a high school in Parkland, Florida, who learned that the carnage could perhaps have been averted.

Suicide blasts kill 19 in Nigeria

Three suicide bombers killed 19 people at a fish market in northeast Nigeria, civilian militia leaders said on Saturday, in an attack blamed on Boko Haram jihadists.
Friday’s deadly attacks came in the week that hundreds of Boko Haram suspects went on trial at civilian courts at a military base.
One fighter involved in the 2014 abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls from the Borno state town of Chibok was jailed for 15 years.

5 killed in gas cylinder blast in India

 At least five persons were killed and over 20 injured in a cooking gas cylinder blast in India’s western state of Rajasthan, local media reported on Saturday.
The incident happened in the state’s Beawar area in Ajmer district when a wedding party was going on Friday night. Six of the injured are said to be critical.
The cylinder reportedly exploded due to the alleged negligence of the cooks who were preparing dishes on the second floor of the building. One of the cooks was trying to transfer gas from one cylinder to another when it caught fire and exploded.

Pak child killer handed four death sentences

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court on Saturday sentenced a suspected serial killer to death for the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl, a prosecutor said.
The girl’s murder ignited nationwide protests over allegations of government inaction, and a media campaign led to his arrest after years of him being on the loose.
