Maternal uncle, nephew arrested on raping charge in Morrelganj

 A case was registered with Sharankhola PS in Bagerhat district against maternal uncle and his nephew on the charge of committing rape on a school girl (15) of class-X, according to a delayed report received here. The case was registered by the mother of the victim girl recently.
 The main accused is Raihan Uddin Ruman (21), son of one Ruhul Amin Hawladar of village Amragachia under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district and a HSC examinee of Morrelganj S M Degree Collage. The other accused is Jahangir Hossain (48), maternal uncle of Rahihan and UP member of Amragachia Ward within Dhansagar Union. He was made accused as he threatened the members of the family of the victim after the incident. Police arrested both the accused on Sunday morning and sent them to the court at Bagerhat. Police also send the girl to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital on the same day for her medical test.
 According to the case lodged with the PS, main accused Raihan used to ill-propose the girl who is a student of RKDS Girls’ High School very often on her way to the school and on her way to return home. But the girl always rejected the ill-propose. On January 26 when the girl was returning to her village home at Nalbunia from the school Raihan enticed he girl tactfully, took her to a garden near he house of one Faruk Akon of village Khontakata where he forced her to take seductive drug. As a result, she fell asleep. Then the accused committed rape on her repeatedly and fled away leaving her there. Being informed of the matter relatives of the girl rushed to the spot, recovered her and admitted her to Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex for her treatment.
2 held with Phensidyl in Jessore
JESSORE: Members of Rapid Action Battalion ( Rab) in a drive arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 160 bottles of Phensidyl from Kanyadaha village in Sharsha upazilaon Thursday. A team of Rab-6 led by Major Md Ziaur Rahman, camp commander of Jessore camp, conducted the drive around3:20pmand arrested Hasanur Mollah and Lutfar Rahman Sarder along with the Phensidyl, said a source at the Rab camp. A case was filed, reports UNB.
SSC examinee held ‘with Yaba’ in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Police arrested an examinee of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) along with 30 pieces of Yaba tablets from Nachole bus stand on Thursday night. Tipped off, police conducted a drive around8pmand arrested SSC examinee Rony Ahmmed, 15, son of Poura Awami League leader Anarul Islam, along with the Yaba pills, said Jubayer Ahmmed, officer-in-charge of Nachole Police Station. National Food Safety Day observed in Kishoreganj

Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA), Food Department, CAB and Kishoreganj District Administration jointly arranged a colourful rally, discussion and documentary film marking the National Food Safety Dayon Friday. A discussion on Safe Food was held at Kishoreganj Collectorate Conference room on Friday morning. Acting Deputy Commissioner Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil presided over the discussion. It was addressed among others by Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman as special guest, Deputy Director of Social Service Md. Kamruzzaman Khan, Sadar UNO Abdullah-al-Mashud, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, its Secretary Monowar Hossain Rony, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Senior Megistrate Abu Taher Sayeed, Sadar Agri Officer Humayon Bhuiyan, Food Officer Anower Hossaion, MAK Food & Bakery Managing Director Al-Hajj Azmol Khan, Megistrate Aklima Akter, Assistant Professor Samiul Hoque Mollah of CAB and NDC Shamima Yesmin. Acting D.C Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil said that, The government led by P.M Sheikh Hasina is implementaing various programmes, including Food Safety Act forming of BFSA considering the public health.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman said that, there is no alternative to safe food for builings a healthy nation.
