Zebra crossing built at Shibalaya Crossing

Roads and Highway Department has built a zebra crossing in front of Upazila Central Abdul Gani Sarker High School under Shibalaya Upazila in Manikganj on Friday. For the facility of students of Upazila Central Abdul Gani Sarker High School and others, Roads and Highway Department built a zebra crossing at that place. Among others, Sub Assistant Engineer Md Didarul Alam, Highway Police Surgeon Nazmul Ahshan, Headmaster Hosneara, Work Assistant Abul Hossain, BRAC Communication Officer Md Joy Ahmed, Principla Shikshaniloy Pre-Cadet School Mohammd Younus Ali, teachers Monir Hossain, Md Ramzan Ali, Abdul Hakim, Shafiqul Islam were present there. Recently BRAC arranged a road safety programme including school quiz, rehearsal and mass drama at Upazila Central Abdul Gani Sarker High School and Sub Assistant Engineer Md Didarul Alam was chief guest. Teachers of the school and BRAC officials have been demanding a zebra crossing in front of the school on Dhaka-Aricha Highway.
Deed registration hampered in Bogra

Deed registration of land and revenue collection in Sadar upazila of the district are being hampered due to alleged mismanagement in sub-registry offices. The owners of the land especially the middle-class people are facing difficulties due to irregularities and corruption in the Settlement and Revenue offices. The officials of the department entrusted with the duty of recording land in the names of the genuine owners are not discharging their duty without bribe, it is alleged.
2 held with arms, 1,224 yaba in Bogra
Assistant Director (AD) of Narcotic Control Department with police arrested a drug peddler with 1224 pieces of yaba and two arms and ten rounds of bullet at Choumuhoney area under Dupchachia upazila of the district at around 3 pm on Friday . The drug peddler was identified as Houmaun Kobir, 22, son of Kaum Uddin, Anour ,27, son of Azezul Huq under Tengoria village under Chapai Nawabgong district. Police said that on information assistant director of Narcotic Control Department Monerujjaman led the drive with police and arrested the drug peddler with 1224 pieces of Yaba and arms. Later, he was handed over to police.
Founding anniv of Chuadanga Press Club observed

The 49th founding anniversary of Chuadanga Press Club was observed on Wednesday. Former Alamdanga upazila chairman and founding president of Chuadanga Press Club Mokbular Rhaman said that journalism is the best profession. He said this at a function of 49th founding anniversary of Chuadanga Press Club at Press Club hall room as Chief Guest on Wednesday .The function was presided over by Mahatabuddin, President of Chuadanga Press Club, former president of the Club Abdul Motin, former president Elahi Box were special guests .On the occasion discussion meeting, colorful rally, cultural function were arranged. The function was addressed among others by former president Sarifuddin Hashu, former secretary of the press club Razib Hassan Kaehi, and General Secretary Sarder Alamin. A colorful rally of journalists was held at the press club and the rally paraded on main road of Chuadanga town.
4 detain, yaba seized in Jessore

Benapole port station police on Thursday evening arrested four and seized 30 pieces of yaba tablets and 13 bottles of local alcohol in separate drives, said Habibur Rahman, sub inspector, Benapole port police station. The arrested are Biplob Hossain, Md Chanchal of Bhaberber village under Benapole port police station, Sagor Hossain and Abdullah -Al-Mamun of Jhikargachha upazila. Sub inspector Habibur Rahman told journalists that they were arrested from their residences with 30 pieces of yaba tablets .
