Passport office inaugurated in Gazipur

DC in Gazipur Md Nurul Islam inaugurated passport office adjacent to Gazipur district Judge court on Wednesday noon. Local journalists including elites participated in a inaugural ceremony. Nurul Islam spoke with journalist at the function. In an interview with journalist, he commented to develop the system of making passport without any hesitation and unwell work. Day after day work of passport will be ensured as early as possible. He stressed on the cooperation of multicasts organisations, general people including mass media.
26 robbed cattle with truck recovered, 2 held

Police recovered 26 robbed cattle and a truck on Thursday early hours from Kumiradah village under Shailkupa upazila of the district. At the same time they arrested two robbers while fleeing from the spot. The robbers are : Razu Ahmed son of Abdur Rahim of Gorepara village under Jessore district and Mofizul Islam son of Monirul Islam of the same village Officer- in- charge (OC) Sagir Mia of Shailkupa police station said, some cattle traders of Kushtia purchased 26 cattle from Jessore Putkhali area and set off for Dhaka Gabtoli. When they reached at Navaran in Jessore a group of robbers swooped the truck dropping the driver and the helper of the truck. They reached at Kumiradah village on Thursday night at 3-00 am in Shailkupa upazila of the district. On information police reached the spot and the robbers tried to flee. Police arrested two robbers, recovered 26 cattle and the truck. The cattle were being taken to Gabtoli cattle market ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. A case has been filed with Shailokupa police station.
15 injured in BCL factional clash

At least fifteen people were injured including a police official in a factional clash of Bangladesh Chhatra League in Beanibazar upazila here over establishing supremacy.

Following the incident, the activists of both the group took position at about 8:00pm. At one stage, they locked in clashes, leaving 15 people injured.

Former Education Minister Dr. Osman Farook attended as Chief Guest while Chief of Trust of Rajjak-Sokina Welfare Trust Al-Hajj Abdul Quddess presided over. Former Dhaka Divisional Judge Rejaul Karim Chhunu and Principal Dr Atikul Sarowar attended as special guest. The chief and special guest distributed the award and crest among the five educationists. They are principal Golam Morshed, Principal Professor Rafiqul Islam Khan, Principal Habibur Rahman, Professor late Md Arshafuddin and Principal Professor Ashraf Ali.
