19-party’s black-flag demo in Sylhet cities

The BNP-led 19-party opposition alliance held a black flag procession programme in the city yesterday protesting the recent national election and formation of new ministry. As part of the central programme, BNP Sylhet District and City Units brought a black flag procession in the city yesterday. The procession was brought out at around 4pm from city’s Bondorbazaar point and after marching toward Chouhatta point; it came back to the place of origin and held a meeting there. During the procession, the activists were holding black flags to protest the session of the 10th parliament set scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
School banking account fair held in Nachole

A fair of opening school banking account was held at Hatbakoil Green View Ideal School under Nezampur union of Nachole upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Tuesday.
Nezampur branch of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) arranged the fair. A function was arranged on the occasion. It was held with the head teacher of the school Abdul Hye in the chair. It was addressed among others, by Chapainawabganj zonal manager of RAKUB Rafiqul Alam Chowdhury as chief guest, manager of Nezampur branch of RAKUB Ashraful Islam and journalist Emran Faruk Masum.
Dhaka-Ctg-Syl rail services resume
BRAHMANBARIA: Train movement on the Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes, which remained suspended following derailment of a freight at Jatrapur in Ashuganj upazila on Saturday morning, resumed after a three and a half hours.A compartment of a freight train veered off the track at Jatrapur in Ashuganj upazila around 10:30am disrupting train services on Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes, reports UNB.
Terrorist held with shutter gun in Jessore
BENAPOLE: Police arrested an alleged terrorist along with a shutter gun and one round of bullet from his house at Shangkorpur Pashchhimpara in Jessore town on Thursday night.The arrestee was identified as Khalek, son of late Pachu Sardar of the area.Police said on secret information, they raided the house of Khalek in the area and arrested him at night.Later, the law enforcers recovered a shutter gun and one round of bullet from Khalek’s possession, reports UNB.
